Surgeon Testimonial

Keith B. Boone M.D.
My first impression of Dr. Boone was positive. He answered all my questions, took time and explained things. Office staff was not so great just OK. The girl the you see at the end is not too friendly. I did see Dr. Boone prior to surgery but not at all after. That was kinda of a bummer. I did see his partner Dr. Higa. He is full of personality:)

Need a Update!
on June 30, 2008 1:35 pm
Hello it's been like forever! I am doing really good! I have had a little stall but it seems like it's a cycle. Loose, stall, Loose? I have been doing good with diet try to keep active. I just have not been able to make it to the gym in last two weeks. I am getting back on that schedule this week! I started summer school, just one class so it should not be so bad. Work has been crazy so that makes for some added stress. I had my 3 month check and that went well I have like almost 40% of over all body weight. I think having this surgery has been a very good thing for me! It has helped me understand my eating in a way that I could not see before. Well hope to be able to keep up with updates. :) I am just happy, I got through last quarter!

I am sorry I have not been good about updates. I have had such a hard time with work load at school, work and Mommy stuff. I am doing really good with diet and exercise. I have tried kick boxing and yoga and I love it. I have gone from a size 24 to a 20. So I am really feeling good about my weight loss. I have had some trouble with focusing and energy the first month but I feel better and better, each day! I hope everyone is doing good. I am sorry for being a slacker!

A little down
on April 11, 2008 7:48 pm
Sorry it's been so long. Life started to get back to busy too soon :(  I started  school two weeks ago & work this week. It's been hard to deal with some of the fatigue. I am  pulling along though. I also went to my Dr.'s  appointment today and only loss 3lbs:( I have been doing a lot of walking but I guess now I can step it up a notch and do some real cardio. Dr. said they are not worried that I am doing fine but my sister loss 7lbs at her 3 week check up. I am going to stay positive but can' t say that I am not disappointed. I do feel the loss I am able to wear size 22, I use to be a tight 24. I suppose that is progress.

My Story

Hello! My name is Lisa. I have struggled with weight my entire life. I was able to lose weight in high school but it started my yo-yo diet struggle. I would lose then gain back weight from this point on. I am now at my all time heaviest. I have to beautiful girls that are my world. However I had to back-to-back pregnancies and I am stuck. The weight is stuck and I can’t seem to get it off. I have thought about WLS for about a year now. I think I am ready to get started. I don’t want to have all the health issues that my grandparents and parents have. I want a long and productive life with my wonderful family. I have a wonderful and supportive husband. I want to enjoy my family and start taking more family photos… After a lot of thinking and research I think I came up with WLS would be the best option for me. I went to see Dr. Boone in October and have been going through the prerequisite, psych evaluation, nutritional consultation etc. I now have received the letter of approval for the surgery but will have to wait to have surgery until spring break. I am going to school and working on obtaining my bachelors degree in Psychology. I am also work ¾ of the time for a non-profit agency. I am worried about the energy level I will have to be able to tackle my daily routine. Well that is an intro in to whom I am and what I hope to accomplish.
