My Story

I just turned 40 this year.  I married my junior/high school sweetheart 20 years ago.we have 2 wonderful adult girls.  I am 4 FT 11 185LBS BMI OF 36.5 I am a type 2 diabetic. asthmatic,GERD, high cholesterol, I had a wonderful mother that died on labor day of 2002 from diabetes at the young age of 53I was diagnosed the next year with type 2 diabetes. I have not been able to get it under control. My only sister had the VGB done several years ago. She has done very well I think she does vomit very easily, I have a couple of friends that have had the VGS and done very wellalso i have1 friend that has had the RNY and 10 days later had a massive bleed. she had recovered very well from that. i am still not sure what i am going to have done. i just want my diabetes to go a way for ever! I see a DR in Texas on  5-1 I hope he can help me come to a final decision. I have called my ins and since i am using an HSA facility they will pay 100% for the surgery I just have to pay my deductible and 25% of the DR. Not a problem i have that on my FSA card just waiting to be used.
