I'm past my 1 year surgiversary!
on May 25, 2010 4:31 pm
I can't believe how fast this last year has gone! I am just over 1 year out from surgery and I stand true to what I have said early out that I LOVE my band! It is still the best thing I have ever done for myself. I have lost roughly 110lbs and am getting so much closer to my goal. I never thought I'd only have roughly around 30lbs left to lose until I would be at my goal weight. I can't wait to get there. I had a slight unfil about 3 weeks ago and now have 6cc in my 9 cc band and have FINALLY started losing weight again after been in a stall for months! Its just as great of a feeling as losing the first 20lbs right after surgery. Hope everyone else is doing great and keep up the great work!

First off I would like to say congrats to EVERYONE that has had surgery this year; you all have done amazing, keep up the good work! Secondly good luck to EVERYONE considering surgery, it will really make a HUGE difference in your life and was the best decision I have ever made for myself! Another year done and so much has happened. I never thought my life would have changed so much for the better. I'm happier now than I have ever been! I hit 189.4 today! I'm 5lbs from just being overweight! I never thought I'd be able to say that! I have lost 109lbs this year which is another thing that I never thought would happen. I have been with my boyfriend, Steve, for 7 months which is another record breaker for me. This has probably been one of the best years of my life and I cannot wait to see what 2010 holds for me. Hope everyone has a safe and happy new year, me I'll be celebrating it at home on the couch with my boyfriends since I have been sick for the last 3 days. HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE! See you next year!

on October 23, 2009 11:37 am
Wow, where to do I start... Yesterday was my birthday and just as a bday gift to myself I thought I'd step on the scale to see what I was at because I knew I was getting close to onderland and wanted to reach it by my bday.......well I did! I weighted 197.3! I am so happy and excited I reached onederland and lost 101 lbs by my bday! I had surgery march 20th 2009 which means I have lost 67lbs post op and 34lbs pre op. I love my band and this has been the best decision I have ever made for myself!

6months and 1 week post op
on September 27, 2009 9:07 am
So I woke up this morning and decided to weight myself and I weight 200.0!!!! I couldnt believe it! I am so close, I figured I'd have a few more weeks cuz I was at 206 the last time I weight but it was the TOM and I tend to retain water. I am so excited, Its been just over 6 months since my surgery and including my pre-op weight loss I have lost 98lbs! I love my band and this has been the best thing I have ever decided to do for myself.

6 months Post Op
on September 21, 2009 6:58 pm
Yesterday was my 6months post op but I couldn't get in to see my surgeon until Oct. 6. Anyways I am down a total of 92lbs lost which includes my 34lbs pre-op so a total of 58lbs since surgery. I couldnt be happier! This has been the best decision I have ever made for myself. I honestly cannot remember what it was like to weigh 298lbs and be a sice 2X and a 22/24. Now I am down to a L tshirt and a 13/14 pants. I bought my first pair of pants from aeropostale (sp) and I love them. I went to go buy new work out shorts today and all I could find was the size I would have gotten 6months ago! As for the rest of my life, my bf and I have been dating for 4 months already, which seems hard to believe and he tells me all the time how proud he is of me... even though he still offers me drinks with my meals and soda, I think its just hard for him to get use to that part. This has probably been the fastest 6 months of my life and the best 6 months! I cannot remember the last time I was this size and I never want to go back to where I was! Thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way!

My Story

I have been big since as far back as I can remember. All three of my brothers are normal in size and so it always made me feel kinda different. I have always been active and busy with sports playing softball since I was little and volleyball (high school team and a traveling team) but it never seemed to help keep the weight off. I've been to 2 nutrionists and both said I have decent eating habbits so that made me wonder why I was over weight even more. I've also had my thyroid checked at least twice and nothing is wrong with it as far as they can tell. My guess for why I'm over weight is gentics since it runs in my family. I first thought about WLS when I was about 15 or 16 and looking back I'm glad I didnt get it done then because I wasn't ready for it. I had the realize band surgery done on March 20th 2009. So far I have had 1 fill on April 21st of 4cc's and am doing well with my band. I have lost 52lbs total so far and plan to keep working my band to the fullest.
