6 Months Post Op
on October 8, 2007 4:42 am
WOW!! It has been 6 months since surgery and I am down 70 lbs. Whoo Hoo!!!! It is so nice to shave your legs and not miss the whole back, to walk and not be out of breath, sit with your legs crossed and to enjoy life. I have 20 more lbs to go until I hit goal!!!
It's been really, really slow now that I'm at the end.
I still do my water and protein has been a whole lot better, and Oh my hair is coming back....Yea!!!!! I have little fuzzy places everywhere, but I am tickled it's coming back and not falling out by the handfuls. Yes, I took everything I could for my hair but it still came out.
So far so good, I'll write when something exciting happens!! TTYL!!!!

I know I am so behind in updating my profile. I have been so busy that it just slips my mind. As of today I am down 58 lbs. Whoo Hooo, go me!! I feel so much better and I think I look better to except for that stomach thingy. Is it going to fall down like everything else or just be and inner tube for the rest of my life, LOL? My husband says he sees and feels bones he didn't know I had, LOL, he's a nut!!
I still do good on my eating, I don't go over 10 grams of sugar on anything. I don't drink caffeine, or carbonation, so of course no cokes. I eat anything it's just my portion size is small and I try to get the protein first but some days I get it and some days I don't.
I will be so glad when my hair stops coming out by the bucket loads!! It is so aggravating. Ugghhh!!! Well, there's not much to say so I'm gonna go. TTYL!!!

Stall
on July 20, 2007 3:47 am
Well, I have finally hit a stall in losing. Man, it sucks!! I knew it was coming but I was secertly hoping I would be in a percentage that it didn't happen to. Fat chance of that happening. I am still doing good with my water but as usual protein is a problem with me. I try to get it in food so I haven't been doing the shakes. I'm still working out at the gym 5 days a week. My hair is coming out like crazy!! It is so aggravating!! People I have talked to said it lasts 2 months. I hope I don't need a wig, LOL!!! I still get tired, the Dr. hasn't called to let me know how my lab work was. I guess I need to get them on the ball at his office. They are so disorganized there. Well, that's all the exciting news on my end. I hope to have weight loss to report soon. TTYL!!

3 Months Post Op
on July 9, 2007 7:49 am
I can't believe I am 3 months out from surgery. I know I haven't been doing good  keeping up my updates but nothing exciting has been happening.
I am now down 45 lbs, and 5 1/2 inches lost. I'm beginning to wonder about this working out crap, I lost more inches before I started. Oh well, I haven't worked out in a week but I'm starting back today.
I have been feeling a little tired and run down. I thought it was becasue I was gone so much and didn't have time to slow down but when my cousin took a vacation I decided I would too and stay my butt at home and just relax. Well, I'm still tired so I'm thinking something is low. I was anemic before surgery and I bet my iron has dropped. I go see Dr. Suggs Wednesday and have lab work done so we'll see what he has to say.
My hair is starting to come out a little bit. Right now it's not that bad just a little here and there.
I have slacked on the water and need to get it increased again. I've just felt blah! in the last month. Protein went pretty good there for a little bit but now I am struggling with it again.
My eating has been good, I have only thrown up 3 times. 2 of them because I eat to much and the other time I took to big of a bite and it got stuck. YUCK!!! It hurt like the dickens too!!
My weight loss is slow and sometimes it gets aggravating but I'm dealing with it because I have come a long way from the beginning. I feel better, I "think" I look better and I'm just glad I did this. I thank God for bringing me through it and helping me each day, because without him I couldn't do it. It's hard some days, and some days it's easy. I struggle everyday with head hunger. If you don't know what that is, it's when you "think" you have to eat and your not even hungry. I don't miss sweets but sometimes, not often, I want something sweet and I just eat a little something to satisfy me but I don't do sugar, I use splenda. I don't miss cokes. I have not had any caffeine, or carbonation since 2 days before surgery. I stick to water and decaf, sweetend with splenda, tea.
Well, I'm gonna get my 3 month pic up so you can see. TTYL!!!

2 Month's Post Op

WOW, I can't believe it's been 2 months since surgery. Time is flying by. Well, here is the damage for this month: I am down 33 lbs. (Whoo Hooo) I have lost 8.5 inches this month and I feel GREAT!!! I will get my 2 month picture up soon. I can actually see a difference in my face and boobs, LOL!! But this stomach, my goodness when is it going to shrink. Water is good, protein is going better, still working out 5 days a week (when will I look forward to it) and I'm just doing good or so I think I am.
I'll update when something happens. TTYL!!

My Story

                               garfieldC.gif

My name is Shannon, I am 35 years old, married and have 1 daughter named Summer. They are my life and I love them dearly! I have researched WLS for over a year and have wanted it done but there was always someone "talking" me out of it. Finally after numerous attempts I talked to my husband one more time and he said he would stand behind me in whatever I decided to do. That's all I needed was his support and I finally got it. I made an appointment with the surgeon and now as they say the rest is history.

I have 2 dogs, Maggie and Clint (dachshund, pit bull mix) 2 cats (Angel, Ki Ki) fish, pot bellied pig (Oscar) Guinea Pig (Jeannie) and a bearded dragon (Brutus) I love my animals!!!!
