Surgeon Testimonial Roger De La Torre, M.D. Dr. De La Torre is an excellent surgeon. He's very serious about his work. I would have liked a bit of warm spontaneity in his bedside manner but others tell me he's very focused. I can accept that and know that he's got an awesome track record in the operating room. The Doc is a straight-shooter. He tells patients the truth even when one may not want to see it. He doesn't pretend that surgery is the answer to all of my problems and, as a straight-shooter, provides a strong aftercare program.rnrnHis staff handles the people side of the patients. Each of them is compassionate and empathetic to their patients. The practice's support group (meeting twice monthly) is the best!rnrnOverall, Doc's rating for surgical competence=11; bedside manner=7. Member Interests

As a post-op RNY patient who's lost over 130 pounds, I'm learning to live life to the fullest. My tool has given me a head start. Now, I'm waiting for my head to catch up! I lost 40 pounds pre-op (all liquid) diet and have had little complications. I'd love to meet others who have had or are thinking about having surgery...I'll be glad to share what I know. I'm a single Mom of a 20 -yo daughter. I'm working full-time and going to school for my masters. I'm outgoing and a go-getter. Watch out world, here I come!
