July 31, 2008 My name is Beverly. About 30 years ago I had a Gasteoplasty (Stomach stapling). I had a lot of problems with my back while in the hospital & I couldn't walk very well & my doctor didn't help me deal with it. The second day after my surgery they started feeding me foods. When I went home my mother came to help me & she fixed me regular cooked grits & I had problems with digesting them & it felt like I was having a heart attack. When I called my doctor his nurse yelled at me & told me that I should have known better. At that time they didn't have a nutritionist to help you & so at first I lost 90 lbs but due to no guidance I gained all of it back. Dr Hannon told me that basically what they did then is about the same as the banding now. In 2004 I went to see Dr Hannon to attempt to have Gastric Bypass. The doctors approved me but my insurance turned me down because the policy was only once in a lifetime. Well now we have a different insurance & a few weeks ago Dr Hannon's office called me & told me that Tricare had approved me. Usually I am never at a loss for words but at that time I was so shocked that I couldn't say anything for a few seconds. I had just about given up. I felt like I would be obese for the rest of my life. Today July 31, 2008 I went to the Begin class & then to see Dr Hannon & they scheduled my surgery. I am so happy I could burst. My surgery is scheduled for August 25, 2008.         Can you tell I am excited!!!Beverly
