Surgery Date

So I'm going to try the blog thing. Just got my surgery date for the vertical sleeve. September 29th. Quietly freaking out. Maybe stunned is a better word. I've been doing all the doctor visits, tests, collecting clearance letters, etc for about 4 months. I think. I'm exhausted. And now it feels like SUDDENLY, this thing is on top of me. Looking forward to my upcoming annual vacation with my "girls" week of September 6th, and then as soon as I get back the two week protein shake diet begins and more doctor visits/tests. I am not looking forward to this surgery and would not do it if it wasn't for my damaged liver (non alcohol related). However, there IS the damaged liver and I don't really have a choice. So. Onward. I just watched/listened to Graham Elliott's "fireside chat" from the 2014 conference and learned a little bit about what this will be like. No turning back now, so I intend to do everything required, and then some. But I don't like it. Can only hope that will change. Maybe i'll look back on this blog a year from now and be able to see more clearly.
