I have been battling with my weight since as far back as I can remember. I came from an environment where we were taught to eat what we were given because "there are kids starving in this world who would be more than happy to eat what you have." I was usually always the heaviest kid in class, which 9 times out of 10 made me the butt of all jokes; this did MAJOR damage to my self-esteem and because of it, I became very quiet & withdrawn. The girls bullied me because I was fat & the boys wouldn't even give me a 1st glance OR the time of day. I was engaged (to my surprise) after high school to a guy who I thought was the best thing in my life. I was SOOO in love, until he told me that he loved me but wasn't "attracted" to me anymore. Dr. Lisa Dobruskin is the best!!!! I've only gotten my lap band removed with her (I get sleeved in July) but she made me feel so calm. She was very friendly & she didn't talk down to you or judge you. All of the doctors she's been sending me to for pre-op clearance have ALL spoken very highly of her, which made me feel even better about going to her for help. She's a wonderful person & an equally wonderful surgeon. She took my band out a week ago today & I'm already back at work!!

Sleep Study Scheduled!!!

So I went to see the pulmonologist yesterday & he told me I needed a new sleep study in order to clear me for surgery (the last one I had was in 2004). I got the call TODAY & got my date for my sleep study, June 30th. Things are moving along so good!!! With each day that passes, I get more & more excited/nervous about my surgery. I'm SOOOO ready to do this & get my life back!!!
