Fill... and an unfill
on August 20, 2008 3:20 pm
Quickie update... filled on 8/18 2cc... then, after I got home, noticed how tight it was.  It was no better the next day, so I called the doc and described my symptoms:  tightness, inability to swallow anything other than a tiny sip, and reflux.  The verdict:  they saw me again today and removed 1cc - relief was immediate!  Will be glad to get back to something besides liquids tomorrow!  Weight is down a total of 48 lbs now.

2 Fills in One Week
on June 28, 2008 9:17 pm
Went to the doc on 6/19.  Got a 4cc fill - his standard first fill for all patients - since my band was empty when placed.  I was hungry a lot before the 1st fill, and still hungry afterward.  Not much improvement in my appetite.

I called the doc back on the morning of 6/26 and scheduled another fill appt. for that afternoon (he only does them on Thursday afternoons).  Got another 2cc this time for a total of 6cc.  Boy, now I can tell the difference.  I can't eat anything like I used to be able to.  This band thing actually does keep you from being so hungry. Now I've got to be very careful about chewing even more thoroughly and eating more slowly.  I have been working real hard to do this since before surgery as old habits are hard to break.
