Surgeon Testimonial

Kenneth Cleveland, M.D.
Dr. Cleveland is wonderful. He is very helpful and kind. He will answer any question for you and fight to get what you need. His staff is great. He told me all the risk good and bad about the surgery. He asked about after care and support groups. He is encouraged by your weight loss and is concerned if you have problems. Just the best. rnrnStephanie Dumas

The most important question to ask on the job is 'What am I becoming?'"You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true. Face the truth." ~ Katherine Mansfield "Too often we are scared. Scared of what we might not be able to do. Scared of what people might think if we tried. We let fears stand in the way of our hopes. We say no when we want to say yes. We sit quietly when we want to scream. And we shout with the others, when we should keep our mouths shut. Why? After all, we do only go around once. There's really no time to be afraid. JUST DO IT." ~ Nike advertising campaign "I am convinced that attitude is the key to success or failure in almost any of life's endeavors. Your attitude - your perspective, your outlook, how you feel about yourself, how you feel about other people - determines your priorities, your actions, your values. Your attitude determines how you interact with other people and how you interact with yourself." ~ Carolyn Warner "Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives." ~ Author Unknown "It's never too late to be what you might have been." ~ George Eliot "For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it." ~ Author Unknown "Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. Hi all,  I am about 10 monthes out and I seem to have hit a plateu.  I keep loosing inches but not weight.  It is very flustrating.  I know that I can eat more now and some days it is a real struggle not to overeat or should i say eat several times a day just cause I can.  I have come a long way and don't want to go back.  I have 60 more pounds to get off before I finish and get to my goal of 180.

My Story

HELLO EVERYONE.

I AM HERE TO TELL MY TALE OF GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY.  I HAD SURGERY ON DEC 27,2005.  MY SURGERY WAS GREAT.  DIDN'T HAVE TOO MANY PROBLEMS.  I WENT BACK TO WORK AFTER 3 WEEKS.  THAT WAS GREAT.  I HAVE BEEN LOSING WEIGHT AND INCHES FOR SEVERAL MONTHES.  I HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH KEEPING STUFF DOWN.  I HAVE THROWN UP SEVERAL MAYBE 100 TIMES SINCE SURGERY.  I WILL TRY NEW THINGS AND I WILL KNOW WITHING 30 MINUTES IF IT IS GOING TO WORK.  I USUALLY END UP IN THE BATHROOM.  YUK!

JAN 18,2007  WELL A NEW YEAR AND MY VISIT WITH THE DOC FOR MY ONE YEAR OUT WAS NOT VERY GOOD FOR ME.  HE WASN'T PLEASED WITH MY WEIGHT LOSS.  I FEEL GREAT.  I AM DOWN TO 240 AND WOULD LOVE TO BE AT 200 OR 180 BUT I AM STUCK AT 240.  HE SAID I SHOULD INCREASE MY EXERCISE.  WELL RIGHT NOW I AM WORKING 2 JOBS SO I DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME FOR EXERCISE AND I AM STARTING BACK TO COLLEGE ONLINE IN FEB. SO THAT TAKES UP THE REST OF MY TIME.   I AM WATCHING WHAT I EAT AND TRYING TO EAT HEALTHY BUT WHO KNOWS.  I AM JUST GLAD THAT I HAVE FINALLY QUIT THROWING UP.  SO I HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE DOC IN JULY AND HE EXPECTS ME TO BE AT 225.  I SURE HOPE THAT I CAN MAKE THAT.

WELL,  I WON'T BE AT 225 AND WON'T BE GOING ON THE 11 TO THE DOC.  WILL BE ON VACATION.

WELL,  I DIDN'T MAKE THE 225 BUT I AM CONTINUING WORKING 2 JOBS.  I DON'T HAVE TO BUT IT IS GREAT TO BE ABLE TO DO IT AND FUNCTION.  2 YEARS AGO I WAS DOING GOOD TO HOLD JUST ONE JOB.  I WAS STRUGGLING TO FIND CLOTHES THAT FIT AND DIDN'T MAKE ME LOOK LIKE A BLIMP.  THAT DIDN'T WORK ALL THAT WELL.  I AM DOING GOOD AND GETTING IN MY PROTIEN.  I STILL THROW UP.  SOME FOODS DON'T AGREE WITH ME.  I CAN EAT BEEF.  BUT NOT ALOT OF IT.  I CAN EAT CHICKEN IT JUST DEPENDS ON WHERE I GET IT FROM.  I DON'T COOK ALOT.  SEEMS LIKE A WASTE OF TIME.  JUST FOR ME.  BUT IF WE HAVE A DINNER AT WORK I WILL COOK.  I HAVE TRYED SOME NEW RECIPES AND THEY JUST MAKE SO MUCH FOOD.  I SEEM TO BE STUCK AT 245.  I HOPE TO GET PAST IT BUT I GET STRESSED OUT AND I STAY WERE I AM AT.  HOPEFULLY I CAN GET PAST IT AND GET TO BELOW 200.  THAT IS MY GOAL.    9/9/2007.
