James Wallace, M.D. When I went for my first appt. with Dr. Wallace I was sooooooo scared, but the more I talked with hime the more comfortable I got. It was also nice to know that he was the chief trauma surgeon, I knew if I got in trouble in the OR there would be no better at my side. At first he seems to be a very gruff man but the more you deal with him the softer he gets!!! I have to laugh the people at the hospital call him the wizard, now I know why!! THANK YOU DR WALLACE!!!!
First off I'm sorry
this took so long to
post!!! I tried
e-mailing each and
everyone of you but
you can only do a
few at a time so I'm
doing it this way.
I want to thank each
and everyone of you
who signed and gave
me their support and
prayers for a safe
surgery. I'm doing
GREAT and am
enjoying the losing
side.~Chris~
Sorry for not doing this sooner, but I tend to get really busy in summer. I have been doing great! I now weigh 108 and have been maintaining that with a 5# cushion for loss and gain. I have no real problems can eat pretty good, somethings and I don't get along but you just learn to steer clear of them. My tool does remind me once in awhile who is boss but that is a good thing.
My 1 year anniversary was yesterday!!! I can't believe how time flies!!!
Ok~ I cannot believe the ride I have been on for me it has been short of a miracle. I am one of the lucky ones. No trouble with eating except anything with tomato like ketchup or any kinda tomato sauce, that's okay though I can get around that LOL, while the family eats lasagna I get steak yum yum.
My health is good I am down to 120 # 2 pounds short of my goal but very comfortable at this weight. All my health problems are gone the only meds I take are my vitamins (6 gummy flintstones a day~2calcium chews (my chocolate fix of the day~and my B-12 sublingual) and I take a prescription for Miralax daily to keep the insides happy.
It is very hard for me to look back and see a shadow of the person I use to be, she was a very sad sad person and very rarely smiled or kidded around, each passing day was a wish for death, I guess I was just exsisting (YUCK). Fast forward to now Wow what a different person. I pray I never forget that other woman she will help me stay where I am today.
Thank you my OH family for helping me walk my journey and reminding me that this race is a walking race not a running one where slow and steady is the answer and that stalls are a part of the game.
OK I hit the big "50" and I haven't ever felt this good about myself!!! I do believe that 50 is the new 40!!! Things are going soooo good for me I just can't hardly believe all the changes in my life. I reached my personal goal for my Birthday now I just have to meet my personal goal of 118 for my 1 year anniversary. I think I should be able to do that just 5 more #'s!!! SOOOOOOOO like I said I feel I am just starting the best part of my life right now and lovin it!!! Thank you to all my friends for all their support!!!!!!!
Hi My name is Chris. I have been on this journey for a while now and would love for you to travel with me,so go grab a cup of coffee or a protein drink and enjoy yourself. I started gaining weight when I got pregnant with my kids. I gained 50 lbs with the first one and never really lost that before I got pregnant again. Yeah you guessed it I gained more and lost a whole lot less. I went on a very unorthodox diet and lost a 100 lbs I even kept it off for around 5 years YUP put it back on I tried to quit smoking and put on 40 lbs so I told myself that is enough of that and started smoking again. Never lost that weight and kept adding for a couple of more years okay maybe for more than a couple of years. So the smarter half of me said enough now you really do need to quit smoking so off we go again MORE WEIGHT!!! But on the brighter side I no longer smoke as of October 15, 2004!!!
I started looking into WLS in May of 2005. At first I had no clue about anything and I was too embarrassed to ask anybody. I hung around this site for a long time just lurking but learning A LOT!!! I went for my first orientation in August of 2005. My husband and I talked about it for a long time never really looking into his insurance so it was put on the back burner. Well that pot kept simmering in my mind and it finally just boiled over. I realized I had to have this surgery.
I have had Acid Reflux for a better part of 10 years. I would wake up and the first thing I would do is Throw up so needless to say I damaged my esophagus.I was diagnosed with Barretts esophagus in January 2006 stage 2 and progressing so I really needed to do something quick. My Dad had esophageal cancer and I was heading down the same road I had a bunch of other little things wrong so I got the full hearted blessings from both my Drs so I gave Dr. Wallace the call and got my consult scheduled
THE BEST THING I EVER DID!!!!
So as they say the rest is history and is continued in my blog so please keep checking back often and leave me some comments and Please keep me in your prayers. Thank you for visiting and remember nothing taste as good as thin and healthy feels!!!
You scored as Spring. You are SPRING. Ever optimistic, you readily greet each day with an open mind, and with gladness in your heart knowing that even should life share its dimness with you, the sun -will- come out.
