Surgeon Testimonial

James Davidson
My first impression of Dr. Davidson was that is is very informative and thorough. His office staff is great, especially Trevor. He is full of life and it's like you have known him forever. Dr. Davidson is strictly business, but I would definatly choose surgical competence over bedside manner anyday. I have been thoroughly advised of all of the risks of surgery. Aftercare is the most important aspect besides the actual surgery itself. BSC Dallas has an awesome program and amazing patient support.

A year out...
on May 19, 2011 8:20 am
So I'm a year post-op and I am finally normal. I never thought on my life I would be a size 1 and 118 lbs. I am super happy buying clothes. It's fun! I run and play with my kids my house is spotless. I've talked to many awesome people on here that have given me so much love and support. I am self conscious about my thighs, little titties and butt. But you can't have it all, right. I have had many NSV's and I think my scale has finally come to a halt. I could loose 3 more lbs and still be at a normal weight. I'm in the gym at least every other day. I do weight training and cardio. Everyone tells me to skip the cardio, but I love it. I eat whatever I want. In fact the only thing I watch is my sugar. I still use splenda for everything. I eat carbs finally but they fill me up so fast I can't gorge on them thank god. I wore a freaking swimsuit without a cover-up. I've cleaned out my closet at least 4 times. I need to do it again already. I'm just in a way better place than I was a year ago. I can't imagine being able to loose the weight without my sleeve. It wouldn't have happened. I guess enough rambling. Thank god for my sleeve. I LOVE IT!

My Story

I'm Cara.  I have been married nine years. I am a mother of three boys. We live in Texas. We also have two male dogs. It's Testosterone City. I've always been chubby. A friend from highschool who had gone through surgery inspired me. I looked at my options. My insurance at that time only covered RNY and BAND. I knew the SLEEVE was for me so I didn't go through surgery at that time. A year (to the day- ironically) passed and I had lost and gained 55 lbs for the 100th time in my life and decided- Ok I'll go ahead and do the RNY and just deal with it.  I called my Doc for another appt and told me my insurance hadn't changed EXCEPT they now paid for the SLEEVE! I was ecstatic! I got approved and a surgey date all in 6 days. Goes to show good things come to those that wait. I am thrilled and a little nervous, but ready to start this new path in my life. I want to be healthier and more comfortable in my own skin. Ready for the ride...
