This is a rock star surgeon who is both kind and competent, with a sensible and compassionate staff. I came to his office after a series of bad experiences with another surgeon.

I had a revision from lap band to sleeve. They offered me a viable solution when faced with the fact that my insurance would pay for the band removal but wanted to wait about six months for the revision. The financial aspects were extremely competitive and were on par with what my out of pocket expenses would have been even if my insurance had approved a concurrent revision.

Due to a series of unfortunate events, neither of my care providers were able to come with me to Delano and Dr. K arranged for me to get a ride back to my hotel as well as get my vehicle back to the hotel, where I stayed for a week post-op. That was way above and beyond what I would have expected.

While the Delano Regional Medical Center is pretty much in the middle of nowhereland, I was extremely impressed with their compentency and overall kindness. For some reason, they stopped ordering Isopure and the on-staff bariatric coordinator went out of her way to get me some protein shots because I could not stomache what was being provided on the meal trays.

I was first up for surgery on Monday morning and, due to the lack of a support person, Dr. K arranged for a late release on Tuesday (at 2:00 PM) to ensure I was actually ready to be released and be adequately functional.

I got much more personalized care at Delano Regional Medical Center than I would have gotten at any major medical facility in Los Angeles County. No, I wasn't crazy about the fact I had to travel 150+ miles but, in the end, it was worth the inconvenience.
