Surgeon Testimonial

J. Wesley Alexander, M.D.
Dr. J Wasley Alexander changed my life. I have complete Gastric By-pass surgery in 2004. I weighed in at 326 lbs. I lost 160 lbs in less that 1 year. In 2005, I had skin removal, lower stomach and breasts. I's been nearly 8 years since my initial surgery, and I am proud to say, I kept. it off. I weigh 175 lbs at present. Dr. Alexander was a God Send. What a wonderful man! His office staff was very supportive, There was nothing I disliked about him. He was straight forward and pulled no punches. Proior to the surgery, he placed my with a Psychologist to lets me know just what this life changing surgery could possibly affect me. I also received post op support. No stone was left unturned.

My Life after Gastric By-pass
on January 28, 2012 10:16 pm
I was born in 1953. All my life I was a Fat kid. I loved my parents and Grand Mother. Although they spoiled me to no end. I ate everything. All hours of the day and night. This was not child abuse at the time. They loved me and thought they were doing the right thing. As I grew older, my parents seen I had a weight problem. I was tested numerous times. In and out of Children's Hospital undergoing very painful testing. Needles, probes. You name it. I couldn't figure out why all of these tests were going on at the time. They hurt so much. Later, I was told it was done trying to find out why I was so fat. Through the years of grade school, no one liked fat kids. I was never picked to play sports on the play ground. I had very limited friends. I felt like an outcast. My parents even put me through therapy. It was determined that I was depressed. DUH! After my Mom died in 1984, I suffered from Panic Attacks. I was a mess. I had to take Prozac, in which I still do today. My Mom had Diabestes, Heart problems, stroke. My brother, Roger suffered the same thinks our Mom did. He died in 2003 at 57. He kept telling me.."Look what you have to look forward to.." It scared me.His only daughter, my neice, Darlene, I promised him I was here for her through life. Darlene is physically handicapped. I was afraid I would be around for her nor my only Son Vincent if I stayed obese. It was therefore, I chose to receive Gastric By-Pass Surgery from Dr. J. Wesley Alexander in 2004. I had a surgery that took more that 5 hours. It was a success. In less than 1 year, I lost more than 160 pounds. In 2005, Dr. Alexander cut off excess skin. Lower belly and breasts.Wow. I was a new man! In 2006, I remarried to a beautiful, Italian Lady. Cathy Fugazzi. A wife more than 13 years younger than I. I am truly blessed. I am a christian. I love my NEW life!
