Surgeon Testimonial

Joseph Regan M.D.
Wow, my first time meeting Dr. Regan was at the orientation training where he was explaining everything. When I went for my first vist he really cares and listen to my concerns. His staff is great anytime that I have had a question they have answered it and they are very helpful. I can't say enought about them.

I had my 3 week checkup yesterday and I found out that when I started seeing Dr. Regan 08/2007 my weight was 258, the day of surgery it was 237 and now it is 217.  Still a little sore at the stitches, but now I have been given the OK to exercise, I still get a little tired and break out in a cold sweat at times.  I have been throwing up for the last few days at least once.

2 Months Now
on October 5, 2008 8:55 pm
Wow, I'm now at two months out, I have had some wow moments. My clothes do not fit any longer, I have given away tons of clothes and now  I really don't know what size to buy.  I can wear some 14, and in a 16 which is somewhat to big.  I can finally eat without throwing up as much.  When I ride the bus now to work I don't take up two seats, and can fold my arms behind my back.  No more blood pressure pills and mine back doesn't hurt as much.

5 Days out
on August 9, 2008 8:50 pm
Well, I had mine surgery on Monday and everything went fine, so the doctor told me.  Last night I couldn’t sleep went on a cleaning spree, and then took the shower with the cleaning soap that dries your skin. Got to the hospital at 5:00am, weigh in at 231lbs, wow.  Then they couldn’t fine my veins to start the IV boy do I have a big burse from that, then I got the blood thinning shot, boy the shot didn’t hurt as bad as the medication. Kiss my family and away I went, surgery went so fast the only thing I remember was going from the cart to the surgery table and waking up in pain with IV’s,. Came home on Wednesday I’m up to walking 2 blocks but still in a lot of PAIN, I had to call my angle on Thursday because I had a low grade fever it went to 100.7 I was worried. Friday called the DR no fever just keeping a close eye. Still passing major gas, I’m trying to drink more than 32oz it’s hard. When will the pain go away?

My Story

What is my story, I have been one of the big girls all my life.  I have tried so many programs and pills to lose weight oh yes they worked but then after a while the pounds came back plus more and more friends.  I'm a 54 year old grandmother of 2.5 and I want to be around for them and see them grow.  I have high blood pressure, bad knees, and a bad back, I want to lose 100lbs my weight now is 247. My weight before the surgery was schedule was 276 and it has taken me 1 year to get down to 180. I'm also working on my Master in Education which is really hard and getting to me.  My surgery date has been set for August the 4th and the closer it get the more nervous I'm getting.
