Surgeon Testimonial

Chasen, M.D.
Dr Chasen is a wonderful surgeon. He is also very knowledgable when it comes to WLS. He lays down the laws and expects you to abide by them or he will not do your surgery. I really like him and he has a wonderful bedside manner.

Very perfessional person and is wonderful with his patients.

Im glad he was my doctor, I wouldn't change a thing.

Its been a few months since Ive updated my profile. Im down 100lbs and Im wearing a size 4 jeans and med/sm shirts. Im very proud of my success and hope that I can continue to do good. Its not been very easy as I haven't been eating like I should, a lot has been happening in my life especially the last couple of months.

Ive moved twice within the last 4 months and my father passed away July 19th and Im having a very difficult time dealing with it.

Again as far as my weightloss goes Im at a stall but its all good I know it will start dropping again. I would love to have a tummy tuck and also to get new boobs, when I lost all the weight I lost those also lol.

Well thats all my news for now.

I thank the Lord for my blessings every day.

Well I went to see Dr. Chasen on March 4th for my 6 month check up. He said I'm doing great and that my weight loss would start to slow down. Im only about 25lbs from goal and he is right about slowing down, Ive been on a stall now for about a month or so, I had lost a couple of pounds and gained them back, then lost them again so I think Im still on that stall. I will just have to get back to the basics. Ive not been exercising like I was because my life has been so crazy lately. Hubby is active Army will soon be recruiting in Knoxville TN so we've been trying to get things cleared for the move and not to mention everybody in the house has the flu but Im hanging in there.  I will be a TN resident as of March 19th. woohooooo Hello TN. I will miss Dr. Chasen and his staff they are an awesome group.

I will update after my move to TN Im sure I will have lots to talk about.

Hugs to all.

Im down to 160-162lbs, I flucuate on that but Im still losing which is a good thing. Im happy about my RNY and me and my lil pouchy are finally becoming friends. I will be moving from Ft. Stewart GA to Knoxville TN. My husband will be on recruiting duty. I cant wait to leave here but will miss my surgeon, I was hoping to at least get his aftercare for the 1st year. Oh well we can't win them all. I will miss him and all my support buddies there at Ft. Gordon GA. Love you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am now struggling with the fear of moving, trying to get settled, hoping to settle in an area with good schools and good WLS doctors and then there is the employment situation. All Army spouses and Im sure Army brats as well knows how this is. Im not afraid of change just know how it effects us mentally, physcially and of course finanacially.  Wish me luck and say a little prayer for me if you will.

Love to all

Donna

Had my 6 month lab work done and everything was fine except for my B12 it was low, which I knew it was because my body had already told me so lol, any how Ive been on a month stall  but knew it wouldn't last long so I wasn't to worried. I am now weighing in at 165 Ive lost 73lbs, Im a slow loser but the inches are dropping off like crazy. Im still in a size 8 but they are getting to big for me.

Ive not had any major issues except for the fact I ate something that was a little to greasy and well I paid for that dearly and will NOT make that mistake again. I don't usually dump but I did that time, not vomitting but was from the other end of town. I know TMI right? Im not quite 6 months out but Ive been doing good. Ive had a wonderful surgery "THANK YOU GOD" I was blessed. I always thank God for his gift to me and for keeping me healthy.

I am still always learning about my tool. Its funny how the further out you get the more you are able to eat but I try to always keep everything at a minimum. Don't want to stretch pouchy. I still do not drink Soda's I stay away from them, however, I do drink peach tea I love that stuff. I try to get in all my protein and water which is hard but its getting better now that I can drink more than at first.

I would suggest to anybody that is wanting to have this surgery to always read up on everything about the surgery. Prepare yourself, make sure you know how to take care of yourself, it is such a learning experience. Im am glad that I joined this site because I learned so much and was prepared for my surgery.

well I will close for now and will try to keep everybody informed more than I have been. hang in there ladies and gents you're in for a ride of a lifetime.

Hugs

Donna

The new me on my 40th Birthday! Dec 23, 2007
on December 23, 2007 6:23 pm
Today I am the big "40" and Ive completely gotten rid of the old me. I now weigh 177lbs and to my surprise I purchased a pair of size 10 jeans today I couldnt believe it, that was the best birthday present of them all.

I cut my hair short and everybody was shocked over that because Ive had long curly hair all of my life in a sense the old me is gone forever along with all that extra weight I used to have. God has been good to me.

Thank you God for all of your blessings.

Merry Christmas to everybody!!!!!!!!

My Story

Just a little FYI I am currently 230lbs and Im 5' 1/2" tall come on now I had to add the 1/2in. that 1/2in means a lot to a short person lol

I've always been the heaviest one of the family well out of my aunts and counsins Ive always been the biggest.  I went throughout Middle and High School thick I guess is a good word to use here cause I didnt get really big until after having my 1st child. That was almost 19 yrs ago and here I am now still trying to lose the weight from being pregnant, ummmmm shouldn't it have been gone by now??? LOL ok a little humor, guess we all need that from time to time right?

Ive tried every diet known to man I think, and I lose 20 and gain back 30 hmmmm something wrong with this picture? I stay active, always on the go, I walk 3-5 miles a day, watch what I eat and I either lose 5lbs and gain it right back or I maintain my weight for a short time ... then gain .... the thing that hurts the most is that I had a Doctor one time tell me that my health problems are due to me being "FAT" and yes he said "FAT". I hated that man so much for him being so mean but you know he is right, but.. didn't have to say it like that right?

Im not getting any younger and not getting any smaller by no means, the older I get the wider I get and the more my joints seem to be complaining. I hate it when you will be walking and can feel your hips touching you sides ... ummmmm thats when I knew it was time for a drastic change. I know this surgery is very dangerous but so is being over weight. I have chosen this to improve my health and to be able to do things with my family again. I'd like to walk from my house to my car without giving out of breath. Soooo any way that is my story  at least for now I will probably write more later.

Hope to become friends with you all and any and all advice/information you can give me on anything would be appreciated and if I can help you in some kind of way just let me know and I will do my best.
