One month out...

So.. today was one month since my surgery (open) with Dr. M in Brazil.

The flight is reallllyyyy long. The surgeon is really great. The surgery went really well. The recovery was really tough!

I was a revision from lap band. I have had two lap surgeries around that.... but this.. this was a whole different story. I knew going in, it was a much more significant operation, but since I hadn't been through anything like it... I had to go through it to get it.  For the first 5 days, I was in significant pain, nauseous, swollen... Just bad bad bad... days 5-8 sucked pretty bad too.. then after that, little by little, I started feeling better.

The flight home hurt, but I was on my way HOME :) I couldn't wait!  Once home, after about 3 days, I was feeling ok, so  I went back to work.  I was sore where the abdominal muscles are healing, and tired, but other than that, no major issues.  I am having some issues with DH, but nothing that is horrible.

The scale is down 30lbs....  It's a good start.

I am not ready to jump for joy yet, because it really has been the hardest (physical ) thing I have had to go through :) But.... I am hopeful that things are going to continue to heal well and the scale will continue to move on down!
