Second Injection Procedure on July 30, 2008 11:30 am
As many of you know, I have a large herniated disc in my neck. It has been a huge challenge as I have pain all the time. I had my second injection procedure this morning.
The injection procedure is done in the hospital because of the location in my spine and the size of it. I'm put under with i.v. sedation. I don't know why but I am in horrible pain after this one. If it helps though, it will all be worth it.
Thank you for all of your good thoughts and well wishes that you've sent to me. I appreciate your ongoing support.

You Are Worth It! on July 29, 2008 6:50 am
I've posted this on my own OH Group, the Mental Health Professionals OH Group that I'm one of the leaders, and even on the Main Board. If you came to my house, it is also on the refrigerator! I think for so many of us that have struggled with our weight and food issues, we tend to put ourselves second, settle, or feel that we aren't enough in some way.
I LOVE this because it is so true. I can read it one day and pick out a part of it that fits what I need at the time; the next day, I can read it and something else stands out.
I wanted to share with all of you:
"YOU ARE WORTH IT"
Do not undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special.
Do not set your goals by what other people deem important.
Only you know what is best for you.
Do not take for granted the things closest to your heart.
Cling to them as you would your life, for without them, life is meaningless.
Do not let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past nor for the future. By living your life one day at a time, you live all the days of your life.
Do not give up when you still have something to give.
Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying. It is a fragile thread that binds us to each other.
Do not be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.
Do not shut love out of your life by saying it is impossible to find.
The quickest way to receive love is to give love; The fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly.
Do not dismiss your dreams. To be without dreams is to be without hope; To be without hope is to be without purpose.
Do not run through life so fast that you forget not only where you have been, but also where you are going.
Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way.

OH Group on July 28, 2008 5:53 am
I had a very productive weekend. As many of you know, OH has a new feature, OH Groups, that has been in beta testing. It is for OH Support Group Leaders right now. This weekend, I worked on it and invited members. If I missed you, feel free to join my OH Group.
The URL is: www.obesityhelp.com/group/LoseWeightFindLife
You can also check out other leaders' OH Groups by searching at: www.obesityhelp.com/group
What I love about OH Groups is that it is a special place for members to interact and get to know each other even more. Also, as a support group leader, it allows members that aren't able to get to a support group meeting due to time, distance, or for whatever reason to be able to be part of a group. It allows us, as OH members, to be even more connected. I LOVE that!
On my website, I also worked on it with additional posts. Since my formal coach training, certification and accreditation, I have such a sense of passion deep down. It is so rewarding and fulfilling on a very deep level.
Thanks to OH for OH Groups! They're wondeful.

I made it! on July 25, 2008 3:48 am
I've had a difficult few days. Some drama.....lots of emotions and anxiety. I am very proud and happy that I'm on the other side of it, had a couple of difficult conversations and DID NOT emotionally eat.
There would have been times that I would have. Maybe not an all out "go for it" but enough to ease the emotional edges of the situation.
When I first had surgery, it was about losing weight. After that period of time, it was about maintaining my weight loss. Then, I experienced a weight regain and lost the weight. Now, it is about dealing with emotions, situations without the self-medication, numbing effects of emotional eating and food abuse.
This was a emotion-packed situation and I faced it, stood in my own truth, honored my feelings and did it without the assistance of food. I'm really happy.

Commitment versus Wishing on July 24, 2008 3:58 am
I've written and published many online articles. Recently, I wrote one that I've received a tremendous amount of positive feedback. I'd like to share with OH members too. Here's the link:
