Surgeon Testimonial

Peter Lalor
Dr. Peter F. Lalor is an amazing surgeon!! I would recommend him and his staff to anyone considering bariatric surgery! He is a very caring, straight forward doctor that does not sugar coat anything that he has to say, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Dr. Lalor and his staff is very supportive before and after surgery. I have called his office with numerous questions and they are always so nice and never make me feel like I am a bother. As far as anything negative, there is nothing! I can't say I would change anything about my Doc or my surgery!

Hi Everyone! I am 43 years old and guess I have the typical story! I started gaining weight about 6th grade and it was all downhill from there. I gained a little weight each year as I went. The last few years have been the worst, I was at 318 pounds when I went to my information meeting for WLS. I have high blood pressure, diabetes, fatty liver, joint issues (4 knee surgeries and 4 ankle surgeries), I guess just all around poor health. But on a positive note..since I have started my WLS journey I have lost 33 lbs!!! I am scheduled April 30th for my RNY. I would love to make some new friends on here so we can help each other through this transition!!

6 month check up
on October 24, 2012 5:22 am
Well, I went for my six month check up and the doc was thrilled. I have lost 112lbs since surgery and 160lbs since I first started seeing the doc. CRAZY!! I went from a size 28 to a size 11/12. How can it be that I still feel so fat? I hold up the 11/12 jeans and think they look huge. I must be crazy! On an up note I feel sooo much better! Working out, walking, fitting into regular size bathroom stalls, going up and down steps...its amazing what I can do now! Hope your all having a great day!

Well, I am hours away from surgery. Its about 12:30 a.m.  I have to be at the hospital at 6a.m. Little nervous and hungry. The old tummy is rumbling big time! I can't believe its here!!  My bag is packed, everything is set to go. Almost feels like I am dreaming!  Well, I guess I will talk to you all later on, when I am on the losers bench!!!!  I will update as much and often as I can. Take care everyone!

One more day!
on April 28, 2012 7:34 pm
Oh goodness! One more day to go! I start my "clear liquid" diet tomorrow, the day before surgery. I can't believe I survived the 2 week liquid diet. I haven't been sleeping well. 4-5 hours of sleep a night, guess I just have lots on my mind. I am ready to get this surgery done and move onto the next phase! Excited/nervous/tired/hungry...lots of wild feelings going on!

Day 10 of Liquid Diet/5 days til surgery!
on April 25, 2012 4:56 am
OK, Day 10 of this liquid diet. The last two days I have been soooo hungry. Drinking alot of water/crystal light. Feeling tired and drained. I have been taking my vitamins and drinking my shakes along with the other few SF items I am allowed. I can't believe 5 days til surgery!!  It was starting to feel like it would never get here! The weight loss has slowed down the last few days. I think its because I just don't have the energy to go to the gym. I get a little light headed (I keep checking my sugar) and just want to lay around. I hate this! I love going to the gym, but worry about "overdoing" it with this liquid diet. Come on 5 days go FASTTTTTT!

Day 5 of Liquid Diet
on April 20, 2012 4:49 am
Well, today is day 5 of my 14 day liquid diet. ITS TOUGH, but definitely can be done! I have lost approximately 10 pounds in 5 days! I seen the surgeon yesterday for my pre op appointment. I have officially lost exactly 40 pounds in just over 4 months. He was thrilled. I told them I had felt a little "funky" not being able to eat. They counted up calories, protein grams, sugar grams etc and told me to go home, boil a potatoe put it in the blender with some milk and spices and try that. Guess I was way under my protein amount. I am only to use this one time though!  On a brighter note, they did take me off my Metformin for my diabetes!!! My sugar was staying right around 70 all day. He said that 40 pounds made a huge difference. :) :)  So, I have 9 more days of liquid diet to go. Wish me luck :)  Surgery is on the 30th and I am counting down! I will be so glad to get this done and move on with my new way of life. Only thing that concerns me about surgery is 1) The drains...I hear they hurt coming out and my doc told me I would have 2 drains. 2) the IV's. I have always had a horrible time getting an IV put in. Doc says I need 2 IV's, one in each hand! UGHH. BUT these are little things to get through for me to reach my GOAL.
