Tuesday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench! ~ JudyAnne

It has been awhile!!
on January 19, 2008 6:54 pm
It has been a while since I posted so here goes. I am almost a year out from surgery ( it will be 1 year on 2/6/08) and as of today I have lost 135 lbs. I feel like a new person. I can cross my legs. Yipee!! I can keep up with my grandson and we are expecting our 2nd grandchild in july of 2008. I have been very busy at work and am sorry I have not been able to update lately. My hubby and I joined the YMCA and try to workout at least 3 times a week. Having this surgery was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I would not have changed anything even the dumping as it has taught me alot about myself. I am a stronger person and more confident in myself now than I ever have been.

Yea, everything went well in surgery. It only took one and a half hours. My blood pressure was really high right after surgery and the next day but seems to be fine now.

My Journey
on January 15, 2007 8:18 pm
Well, It has been awhile.

I went thru all the tests and the 3 month doctor supervised weight loss that my insurance requires. I also had to have my gall bladder removed (gall stones) .

The doctors office submitted the info to the insurance and I was approved within a week.

My surgery is scheduled for Febuary 6, 2007. I am excited to have this done. I know I will probably be a little nervous the closer it gets but, I will be fine. I have my family's support and love to see me through.

My Story

Well, I can't remember a time when I wasn't overweight. My weight problems got alot worse after I had a hysterectomy. I am like most people here, I tried every diet known to man. I would lose some then gain all of it back and more.

I researched WLS for a couple of years after a friend from work had it done. Then, there were a few more people at work that had it done and I decided it was time for me to step up and take control of my life.

I went thru all the test they require and the 3 month doctor supervised weight loo program my insurance required.(Aetna) Before I could get the surgery done I had to have my gall bladder removed due to gall stones.

The best news came when, I was approved for surgery a week after the doctors office submitted it.

My surgey is scheduled for Febuary 6, 2007. I am very excited to start this phase of this journey.

During one of the support group meetings the speaker asked what we were looking forward to being able to do after the weight comes off. There is so much that I had trouble coming up with just one.

Some of them are: being able to

keep up with my grandson.

crossing my legs.

walking up the stairs without having to stop to get my breath.

getting of the high blood pressure meds

walking my dog without my back hurting

no more sleep apnea
