Peter C. LePort M.D.
First impression of Dr LePort was good, he seemed like a person who cares about his patients.
My impression never changed, his office staff are pleasant and caring.
He has many year of expeirence as by researching you will find out for youself.
He addresses all areas and risks of surgery and explains everything involved.
Dr LePort was great, after surgery and during the time I was in ICU he came to see me 5 times and explained what was going on with me body.

Scare

I went for my yearly mammogram and was told that I need to go back because they found a spot on my left breast.  Of course I had family and friends pray for me over this situation and I know that the good Lord will take care of me.
Today I had to retake the test and have an ultrasound, they did not see the same spot but found a few more in the ultrasound that are nothing to worry about. They say they are fluid pockets that could be caused by caffine.
The Good Lord is watching over me.

hair loss
on September 18, 2008 10:16 pm

I am experiencing hair loss now, I have always had thick hair and for the first time I can put my hair in a ponytail using a smaller rubberband. Everyday when I shower there is a huge ball of hair left behind and it seems as if I am always picking my hair off the floor. Hopefully this hair loss doesn't last a long time.

3 mths post op
on September 6, 2008 10:31 am
It's been 3 months since surgery and I have lost a total of 37 lbs. My wedding day I weighed 267 lbs, the day of surgery I weighed 241 lbs and I now weigh 204 lbs. I have lost a total of 63 lbs since getting married in 2005. 37 lbs since 6/4. I am happy with my results so far. I have more energy now then I have had in a long time.
Having surgery was the best decision I've ever made in my life.  God has sure blessed me in my everyday Life and I thank him everyday for all he's done.

weight loss
on August 23, 2008 8:35 am
It's been 11 weeks since my surgery and I have lost a total of 32 lbs.
For the first time since having surgery I had a bad experience. Since I go straight to school from work on Thursday evenings and the instructor only gives us a 15 minute break in the 4 hours of class, I tried to eat half a sandwhich when I got home around 11 pm after taking 3 bites I had this aweful feeling in my chest area which turned into this feeling of getting sick. I threw up for about 5 minutes and the bad feeling lasted for about 20 minutes. The weird thing about this is that I wasn't eating fast and chew my food good so I knew that wasn't the problem, what I think is that my body won't allow me to eat so late at night so from now on I will need to take a snack with me to class so I don't have  to experience this again.

Disability
on July 31, 2008 10:32 am
Only 3 more days before I am back to work, at first I was bored staying at home but after a few weeks of rest and relaxation I began to enjoy the time I had off. I can't believe I am going back to work on Monday.
I am 8 weeks post op and have lost 26 lbs since surgery, weight loss appears to be slower then I anticipated but I am happy to be losing weight.

Since spaining my foot a few weeks ago I  have not excercised
, my foot is still healing and while walking i am still experiencing pain. Hopefully I will be able to excercise in another 2 weeks, plus now that I will be back at work I plan on joining the gym at the office.

My Story

As a teen my mother would tell me I need to lose weight, at the time I was a size 5. My sister was a size 0/1 and most of my mom's side of the family were petite too. Looking back at pictures of me growing up I was a normal size. When I was in High School I would starve my self to lose weight, she really gave me a complex and even as a young adult I would go to work for 8 hours and not eat a meal until I was home for the evening.
I didn't get heavy until a year after having my last daughter at age 25. Throughout the years I gained/lost and gained again. At age 29 a friend of mine went to Mexico and bought us diet pills. A   bunch of us at work were on the same. I lost 50 lbs and thought it would be a good idea to work out to keep the weight off so I joined a gym and hired a personal trainer, she was awesome, I would work out with her 3 times a week and did cardio twice a day/7 days a week. I kept the weight off  for 10 months until the trainer changed jobs. Once she was gone I couldn't find a replacement that could fill her shoes so eventually I gained all the weight back and then some. Since then I have been on all kinds of diets trying to lose the weight.
When I married I was the heaviest I have ever been in my life 267 lbs, now I am 241 lbs and continue to make better food choices. I didn't think I would ever be approved for this surgery so I thought at my weight loss I will have all the weight off in 8-10 years.
In March, I received a letter in the mail from Aetna which I was about to toss in the trash when I thought I better open to see what it is and to my surprise I received a letter of approval for surgery stating that I was approved to have surgery on May 1st. The following Monday I contacted the clinic who is to perform the surgery and emailed a copy of the letter I received.
Since I am attending University of Phoenix, I asked to have surgery on the first week of June so I don't miss any classes and to my surpise I am able to have the head surgeon involved in my procedure.
I am so excited for this surgery for I have been attempting since 2004.
