At home and a wee bit sore.
on April 12, 2012 9:38 pm
I got sent home from the hospital this afternoon.  The only draw back to being disconnected from my IV is that my pain meds wont be available at the pharmacy until Monday.  Starting to think my tummy isn't going to show me that much love between now and then.

I had tried to imagine what sipping was going to be like.  It seems like such simple thing, but seriously, its not.  I have to consciously pay attented to the amount I'm sipping at any given time.  When I forget and take an almost normal sip, I'm reminded rather quickly that I shouldn't do that :)

I hope that all of my sleeve date twins are resting and healing well.

Two days post op
on April 12, 2012 4:51 am
It is Thursday morning around 4:50 am.  I was sleeved on Tuesday morning.  I should have gone home yesterday, but haven't quite figured out how to get all the fluids down without it hurting.

I have been up walking and other than making me really sleepy, wakling has been fine.  I'm trying to click that morphine button less frequently, but I am noticing my tummy hurts when the meds wear off.

My focus for today is to drink drink drink, and use the little breathing tool that measures how much air I can suck in.  I miss my babies terribly, so hopefully I will get to go home today.

I love Dr. CIrangle.  He doesn't sugar coat anything and was very clear when He was noticing I wasn't drinking enough fluids.  He explained the risk of me going home and becoming dehydrated and ending up back in the hospital.  Another hospital stay is what I"d like to avoid :)

Less than two days away.
on April 8, 2012 5:55 pm

My surgery is sometime tuesday morning (April 10,2012). I began my two day liquid diet today, mm gourmet chicken broth LOL.

Everything is going so fast since my request was submitted to insurance.  I'm starting to feel a little anxious about the surgery, but I know that's just my nerves.  I've already had two crazy dreams.

I drempt that I had just come home from the hospital, plopped down on the couch, popped open a can of coke (which I NEVER do at home so it made this even funnier), and starting chugging.  I felt a pop pop pop in my tummy, stood up and looked down and my incisians looked sort of like water fountains. Ha ha Again, I know its just my nerves.

I have looked longingly at food this week, thinking to myself "I wont be able to eat this anymore after next week".  I'm constantly reminding myself that I'm choosing health and life over bad foods, but I am still human.

Still have so much to take care of before Tuesday.

My request for surgery was submitted to my insurance company today (3/28/12).  Fingers crossed!

My Story

All about Celie

Where do I begin? I am a well rounded individual  I've never been 'skinny' a day in my life. Growing up, I was always known as the thick girl.  My smallest is probably 145 lbs @ 5'2", and my legs carried the bulk of the weight, that and my lovely bones.

I am currently at 220 lbs and have chronic pain. Most docs seem to blame the weight, and while I know better, I can't deny its not helping the situation.  I have two wonderful little girls and am looking forward to being able to walk to the park with them and run around without paying for it for days afterwards.

My request for surgery is supposed to be submitted to my insurance this week (March, 26, 2012).  Fingers crossed the approval will come quickly and I'll be able to schedule and get my sleeve ASAP.
