Hello Everyone. My name is Collette and I live in Kent WA and I had RNY surgery 8-01-07 in Seattle WA by Dr. Steven Bock.
I have struggled with my weight since having kids. I have been at least 100 pounds over weight for more than 25 years!!!  I,ve tried every diet known to man, some worked for a minute but the end result is that I always gained the weight back and then some, which was very frustrating.
I joined this website to meet people that were going through the same stuff I'm going through and to learn about WLS and other peoples journeys. Its great to see or hear other peoples journeys ,makes me feel good for them and and maybe not so much of a freak. I feel as if we share a bond since we've all been through pretty much the same battles and the we all have the same goal - WEIGHT LOSS- I love reading the message boards and talking to people.
Thanks and feel free to comment!

130 pounds GONE!!
on May 22, 2008 2:39 pm

I was feeling a bit down about being in a stall for so long...but after talking with the "nut" doctor things are ok and the weight is moving again. I have officially lost 130 as of today. I only have 30 more to make goal.

I think the stall was STRESS RELATED...the last 2 months have been horrid.

I made through the whole breast cancer scare...can I just say I love Dr Bock..at my 9 month check up he praised my weight loss and then moved swiftly to get me in for a biopsy. 4 days of waiting and the tests came back "NEGATIVE" I am so happy...so at this point I am on track for the breast reduction which is scheduled for 9/16...2 days after I have the 3-day breast cancer walk for the cure.

The latest is that my lil miss Emily (my oldest grand-daughter) who is just 3 and 1/2 is scheduled to have heart surgery. She was born with Hypo-plastic left heart syndrome. She has had two major heart surgeries to date..and a couple of other heart things done. We are all hoping that everything works out and this will be the last of them.

The Cruise
on May 4, 2008 10:33 am
We are back from the cruise and I just had to post.

We had a great time. Spent most of it re-conneceting with each other. After 15 years and 6 six kids...seems we got a little lost.

I would recommend going on a cruise for everyone!

I did really good with the food....I made good choices. I did have some drinks while we were there, and I did gain 2.8 pounds...but it is right back on track today and expect that the 3 pounds will be gone before to long..

AHA Moment
on April 21, 2008 12:48 pm

I just had to write my aha moment

In the past I have ALWAYS used the handicapped stall in the ladies room...today the only open one was for the skinny people...oh how I dread having to use the small stall..no room for anything....anyway..I FIT...no having to straddle the seat just to get the door closed...what a wonderful feeling~

Venting!
on April 11, 2008 6:07 pm
Today was the day from hell.  While I am so excited ..I am down 128 pounds..only 31 more to go...

I am back to Dr Bock office...not for any complications to the RNY...this is for the breast reduction. I was so excited when I got the it approved...I guess being 181 pounds and wearing a 38G bra is a good enough reason for it..finally. When I had my last mamo (a requirement for the reducation) they found a lump...so I worried about that for 6 days...then found out it was not cancer..yeah! Well today the doctor who was to perform the reducation advised me that she would not do it until either 1) it was removed or 2) the general surgery dept @ Group Health ok'd the reduction with the lump still inplace. I had my 9 monht follow up scheduled for 5/7 and they are booked solid until then. so now I am in the waiting mode until then...I think this is worse thatn waiting for the approval for the RNY...I have wanted this so much longer...lets see 33 years...I have had they suckers since I was 9 and have wanted them gone or at least smaller since 12...

I just hope I can convince.
