Surgeon Testimonial

Manuel Castro, M.D.
IF YOU ARE SERIOUSLY LOOKING FOR A BARIATRIC SURGEON, WHY NOT GO WITH THE BEST???
I did a lot of research before I chose my Dr. I attended his seminar twice, and asked him many questions before I made an appt with him. I was amazed at the speed in which his office staff gets things done!! From day one, his staff was superb in getting my surgery date!! I chose Dr Manuel Castro because I deserve the very best! He is extremely informed, talented, and has an infectious happy attitude. I want to be THE best success story for Dr Castro.

Thursday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. THE ANSWER LIES WITHIN.  When you admit it's YOU who ate all that food and gained so much weight, then you can start the journey to a new you.  I blamed meds and surgeries (I've had many),  but in reality I had to admit no one else lifted that fork to my face and no one else could lose my weight for me.  I knew it would be hard, but well worth the effort. I'm a native Texan "domestic goddess",  age 56, who has always had a weight problem.  I was able to keep it under some sort of control until age 40.  Little by little, the lbs kept adding up.  I became diabetic, have sleep apnea, COPD/asthma, and many other health problems.  When I hit 50,  I started gaining weight faster than I could even try to lose it.  I ballooned up over 100 lbs in less than 4 years.  I've had both knees replaced, and I just can't live like this anymore so I started researching WLS.  I am ready, totally commited, to a new life.  I'm blessed with friends/family who encourage me and lift my spirits. My partner Cheryl is as commited to helping me as I am to succeed, and that makes it work..

THANK YOU SISTER SUSAN FOR THIS THOUGHT

Concentrate on this sentence

"To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did" When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. Concentrate on this sentence..... 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.' Something good will happen to you today. Something that you have been waiting to hear. This is not a joke; someone will call you by phone or will speak to you about something that you were waiting to hear.

IT'S ALL IN THE MIND

Arranging Your Mind

The 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud lady, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with her hair fashionably coifed and makeup perfectly applied, even though she is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today. Her husband of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, she smiled sweetly when told her room was ready. As she maneuvered her walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of her tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on her window. I love it," she stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old Having just been presented with a new puppy. "Mrs.. Jones, you haven't seen the room just wait." "That doesn't have anything to do with it," she replied. "Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I'll focus on the new day."

My Story

POWER in PRAYER!  I prayed for a miracle and received it!  I have gotten so fat , I was miserable.  I knew my best shot at losing weight was to give up control...as I have no willpower.  I prayed for the best doctor to suit my needs and that my insurance would cover the surgery.  Within one month after initial contact with Dr Castro, I have my approval and surgery date!!  Isn't God awesome?  I will stick to my new lifestyle and become the best person I can be so I am able to be more active, especially in my church.
