Surgeon Testimonial

Walter Sartor
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Sartor. He was wonderful before, during and after my surgery. He was very kind and helpful, answering any question I or my husband had. Besides the fact that the is not hard to look at either. LOL! God Bless Dr. Sartor. I give him a big old 10!

Time for an update.
on July 31, 2008 11:17 am
Well, it seem that I went foreverrrrr without losing anymore weight.  I got my third fill on the 22nd of this month.  I have since lost another 1.  LOL! I am tearing it up here.  I bought an elliptical machine to have at home and I have worked my way up to abut 15 mins so far.  I love using it.  It is just difficult.  I am getting better tho.  At first I couldnt even do 3 mins.  I can really tell that I am losing inches though.  I did not measure myself when I started, but my clothes are definitely getting a lot looser.  Im not sure that last fill put me where I need to be, but I am going to wait a while and see what happens.

First Goal Acheived.
on June 19, 2008 1:05 pm
I hit the 30 lb. mark today.  I am so happy with my band.  After my second fill, I was so tight, I could not eat anything.  I went back in and Rena removed .20 from me and I am perfect now.  I can eat, very slowly and very little.  I hope it last a while.  Things are great.  I see onderland on the horizon.

First Fill...
on May 19, 2008 1:40 pm
Received my first fill today.  3 cc's in my 10 cc band.  I dont really feel anything, so I will give it few and see I guess.  I know over the weekend, I was starving.  Hungrier than I have been since I had the surgery, so I guess it was time.  The stick did not hurt at all, didnt really even feel it.  All in all everything is good.  I just cant eat for a couple of days.  Oh well, I guess I can wait.  I told my husband the other day that if I didnt feel like I was starving it felt like I was cheating.  How sad is that?

2 Week Check-Up
on May 7, 2008 5:06 pm
Went for my 2 week checkup today.  All was great.  Officially I have lost 13 lbs., but according to my scales its 15 lbs.  I think I like mine better.  LOL!  I go on the 19th to get my first fil.  Rena said she will work with me to get good restriction within my 90 day period.  Cross your fingers, I hope that is even possible.  If not I will be payring $300 a pop for fills.  I get the first 90 days no charge except $100 xray fee.  Geez this better work!  I feel great.  My energy level is up and I can feel myself getting stronger.  I also saw my endo today and she changed my insulin to better control my BS's keep your fingers crossed about that too.  She said maybe someday I might get off the meds, but not to rush it.  So I am takin it one small baby step at a time.

Starting to get the hang of it!
on April 30, 2008 12:55 pm
I think things are getting better every day.  I managed to belch yesterday, that was amazing.  LOL!  I have needed to do that since coming home from the hospital but couldnt.  Felt like I lost a couple of pounds.  LOL!  I am not in much discomfort anymore at all.  I sleep all night now without bumping my side and causing pain.  I think I am getting hang of eating, however I will be glad to be off of liquids soon.  I think I can do this LOL!

My Story

I am the mother of three young men ages 18 and 21 and I have a 10 year old stepson.  I am very much a family person.  I have battled my weight all of my life, but after my second child was born I ballooned up to around 260 lbs.  I lost down and maintained around 210 - 220 for a few years after my divorce and then in the last year I have managed to gain back up to around 245.  I have type 2 diabetes and I am insulin resistant.  I am having a very hard time controlling my sugar levels.  Leading me to this option.

I am excited and ready, I have done a lot research on this procedure and I think I am well prepared.  We shall see. I look forward to the journey.
