    Chip, I KNOW you have the peace of God as you go into surgery. I'm praying for a quick recovery and for God to guide the surgeons as they perform your ''healing'' through WLS today! Saving you a spot on the "LOSER'S" bench my friend! God bless you!

My Story

My name is Chip and this is my story. I Was born September sixth ,1963 . I have been over weight for most of my life.  I have tried countless "weight loss programs", diets, or what ever you want to call them. I could loose weight sure, but I just couldn't keep it off. At one point I had even lost over 125 lbs, and just like they say, you gain back even more. In July of  2002 I moved to the mid west from California. When I moved here I weighed in at 225 lbs and was in good shape. Since then I have had a series of misfortune, bad luck, or what ever you want to call it. Divorce, bankrupted, and most recently in May of this year (2007) I was disabled due to medical reasons. The orthopedic surgeon told me that I needed to have a total hip replacement and back surgery, but due to my "MORBID OBESITY" I would be a high risk patient based on  my size and "potential squeale of co-morbid problems that could occur following surgery". He recommended that I get into an aggressive weight loss program and/or may need possible Surgical intervention to help me with the weight loss because of my inability to exercise due to my condition. My currant weight is 400 lbs . I also suffer from Hypertension, Diabetes mellitus type II, Hypothyroidism and severe sleep apnea.  At this point I can honestly say I am ready . I have gone to the seminar at Missouri Bariatric Services, filled out all the paper work, had all the blood work done and turned it all in , along with my Physician's Consult Request Letter from my PCP and a letter of recommendation from the Orthopedic surgeon . Now I am waiting for Missouri Bariatric Services to call me for the first office visit. Due to the fact that I am now on SSI and receiving Medicaid I am hopeful that they well cover it, and let me have the R-N-Y surgery. If you could keep me in your prayers I would appreciate it. God willing it will happen.
