My Story

You're such a pretty girl...followed typically by (she is so fat).  My struggle with my weight began when I was a teenager, the problem was I didn't identify that I had a weight issue because I was still thin.  My attitute at the time was as long as I was smaller than my mother and sister I was OK, boy was I wrong.  I went through high school with that idea and looked good at graduattion.  I went off to college and gained the freshman 20...meaning 20 pounds in one year and my weight continued to balloon out of control since I was no longer on the market.  You see I dated the same man from my freshman year and felt that as long as he was fine with my weight then I was great.  What I didn't realize was that I wasn't ok, I was killing myself.  It's crazy I'm an RN and I watched myself go down that slippery slope of obesity.  What was wrong with me?  I enjoyed food way too much I guess and finally at 285 pounds I knew I had gone too far.
