Surgeon Testimonial

Amir Moazzez M.D.
I first saw Dr. Moazzez at the Seminar that was offered at INOVA Fair Oaks back in June. He seemed to be very educated on all the surgeries he performs. I was very impressed with him. During my first visit however, I was not impressed with the amount of time I had to wait to be seen. My appointment was at 1:45, and I was not seen by Dr. Moazzez until 3:15. I was getting VERY impatient. Once Dr. Moazzez came in he got started right away explaining everything, and I mentioned that I was at the seminar and had decided to do the LAP band, but after attending the seminar, I decided it wasn't the right thing for me and decided to go with the gastric bypass laparoscopically. He explained everything in more detail and settled my mind that there wasn't a doubt that I would be denied. He said I would more than likely be approved because I met all the criteria. I hope so!

The office staff was very nice. They seem to really enjoy their job. They are always very helpful when I call to ask questions.

Here is a picture of me and Dr. Moazzez at my last appt. 9/27/06

Life is for Living ……. Life is a gift we're given each and every day. Dream about tomorrow, but live for today. To live a little, you've got to love a whole lot. Love turns the ordinary into the extraordinary. Life's a journey always worth taking. Take time to smell the roses... and tulips... and daffodils... and lilacs... and sunflowers... Count blessings like children count stars. The secret of a happy life isn't buried in a treasure chest... it lies within your heart. It's the little moments that make life big. Don't wait. Make memories today. Celebrate your life! Author Unknown

Hello everyone!!  Hope everyone's Christmas was great!  I had a great Christmas.  I got everything I asked for, well except for that man I asked for, I guess Santa couldn't put him under my tree this year......... OH WELL.....

I am glad to say I have kept the weight off through the holidays, the holidays are always the HARDEST!!  I did manage to lose some weight.....I now weight 137.6, so I am keeping within my range of 138-140.  I am so PROUD of myself.

It will be 2 years come February 7th, 2008 and I have kept the weight off.........I can't believe it.... ....I could never have imagined that I would be this weight in a million years, I owe it all to Dr. Moazzezz.  It is still the BEST decision I ever made....along with dropping 190 pounds of my ex-husband....LOL...

I have taken some new pictures of me, so hopefully I can post them here.  If not please go to my Photos and see them there.

Take care and have a safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR....

My New Year's Resolution won't be to lose weight, it will be to find me a GOOD AND HONEST MAN!!!

My Story

Where do I start??  There's so much to say about my story.  As you can see you can read about my WL Journey in the Journal area, so I will try and sum up "My Story" for you here.......

I am 30 years old, divorced and LOVING life now!!  SINGLE & FABULOUS is what I call myself now......1 year ago I wouldn't have thought that.  I was 100 pounds overweight and in a unhappy marriage.....then I met Dr. Moazzez at the WL Seminar held at Fair Oaks Hospital and he changed my life forever!!

On February 7th, 2006 I had WLS.  My surgery weight was 231, but that's only because I had to lose a few before surgery, so I like to take my starting weight as 246.  My goal is to lose 100 pounds!! And I aim to do that before this year is over.

The surgery was good.  I didn't have any complications.  Everything went well and I healed from my incisions (LAP RNY) very well.  Months and months passed and my weight fell off....YES it fell off....like over night!!  No kidding!

Today is October 26th, and I am a little over 8 months out...and I now weight 156.2.  YIPEE!!  I have lost a total of 89.8 pounds and I feel GREAT!  I went from a size 22/24 to a 12/10/8 (depending on how it's made).  I can't believe I can wear an 8!!  I have NEVER wore an 8!! I am too excited to even explain it!

I have 10.2 pounds to go until I reach my goal and  I think by the end of November I will have reached my goal, and I can't wait....there will be some MAJOR celebrating going on in my house!!

That's my story in a nut shell... LOL.

Christina
