Surgeon Testimonial

Basil Yurcisin ll, M.D.
My first impression when I saw Dr. Yurcisin was that he looked very young. But I did my research he has done alot of these procedures. I feel very confident in his work and I'm glad that I took the step and attended one of his seminars. They explained the good and the bad of the different procedures and he helped you make an informed decision on which one was best for me.

The office staff is awesome. They work hard trying to make sure that everything is ready for your big day.

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
My battle with weight started at a very young age. I reached well over 250 lbs and maintained that weight throughout high school and college. I noticed how people treated me differently. It also didn't help that I was a very shy person. It resulted in me becoming extremely anti-social and eating more. I would eat even if I wasn't hungry. It was just something that I enjoyed doing and I had a very hard time controlling that habit. When I was about 21 I did set my mind on losing weight. And I lost over 100lbs with just diet and excerise. I really had to put my mind to it but I did it. Then my back pain started up again and the exercise slowly stopped, I started increasing my pain meds and then I started eating unhealthy. I found myself back at 250 and again not...

8 months and counting
on August 18, 2012 5:22 am
As of Tuesday we have been married for eight months. The time is moving so fast. I hate that both our jobs keep us apart for long periods of time. I find myself wondering sometimes.

My health it seems is going in the toliet. Instead of   my cronic back pain, I'm not experiencing neck and massive headaches. My foot swelled up on me and my doctor told me to stop running until it heals. Good advice but I'm bored so I continue to workout.

I started me a little side job. Pushing to make my numbers for this is what I need to gain my freedom back. Its going to take some time but I'm determine to make it work and help people along the way.   http://clapa.joinambit.com

10 Months 16 days! ! !
on November 26, 2011 3:40 pm
Time is flying.. I made it through sooo many holidays, and just passed Turkey day. I did so well and was able to get a workout session in. At times I feel alittle off, don't know what it could be. Made some appointments to see my doctors but overall I'm doing very well. I'm now 158lbs and decreasing (fingers crossed). I have been focusing not so much on cardio but more on strength training. I'm doing everything I can to tone and tightened. 18 more pounds until I hit my goal and I'm hoping to hit that goal by the end of the december/early January.

7 Months & 17 days
on August 27, 2011 6:29 am

Seven Months have really gone by.. And so fast. This morning I weighed in at 166.5 for a total weight loss of 101.5 pounds. The wierd part is I was on a cruise for a week drinking, eating, and dancing for 4 nights straight. Then off to Canada for business for another week. I worked out on two times during those two weeks. But I think the dancing will count as my exercise... LOL! ! ! I totally thought I would have gained weight. So Congrats to me.. I can now breath and let my tummy out...
