OK so I have been slacking awhile. Well I finally got my phone call about the sleep study they did. And Oh my. They told me that I have Moderately Severe sleep apnea. WTF
Moderately severe and it took them a whole month to tell me this???
They said I stopped breathing 41X an hour?!?! OH MY GOD!
So anyways, I had a appointment to go and get my CPAP machine and mask on Monday the 20th. I did and well I used it Monday night.
Not too bad but I ended up waking up at like 3:40am and had a head ache
due to the thing on my forehead pushing hard into me. So I think that I took it off at like 5am so I could sleep good for a hour. Well then that day people could see on my forehead where it was red
and boy did it hurt to touch. So today I called them up and asked if we could switch to a nose and mouth one that way nothing will be on my forehead. So I go back this coming Monday. So we will see how that goes.
I have heard from many people that they love there's so I guess it will take about a week or so to get used to. I will keep you posted. I still have no soda, no smoking and am still plugging away,
but I thin that I might have to change my medical so not sure what that will do but I think the two insurances have the same requirments, loose 5%. but anyways I think that is enough for now. I will keep you posted.
, and went over the changes that I have made. I still have had no soda! yeah!!
down two pounds! it might be small but I tell you since I started this I have changed so much how I eat. I have even noticed some first time wow's. The first thing was actually going out to Sherry's restaurant with Carlos and I ordered a mushroom burger and fries. I cut the burger in half and only ate half of it, and the fries I ate last and I only had about 12-15 of them.
And anyone who knows me, I always eat the fries first cause i hate cold fries. So that was a wow moment for me. The other was a big one and I noticed it Wednesday the 24th. I was getting dressed in my Union shirt that I wear every Wednesday, and well for the first time I put my arms through it and put it on with out stretching it out with my arms in it!!! Holey cow!
now that is and was a real WOW moment for me. Well, I am gonna let you go for now, need to get my dinner cooked and lunch for work made. Take care!!!!
He will be missed! Well anyways, on to the sleep study. I had it done on the 12th. It was a Friday night. I got there and I got checked in then went up to my private room. It was OK, no clocks though.
I had a very nice technician. She explained things very well, and was very help full.
So she then had me get in my pj's and then started to hook me all up. Boy are there a lot of wires. I then had then all connected to a box that hung around my neck till it was time to go to bed. It took a little bit for me to go to sleep, and that was only cause i am not used to sleeping on my back.
. Then all the sudden I got a charley horse in my right leg! Boy did that hurt,
and the suction of the mask was gone and it was leaking. I thought for sure he machines were probably going berserk
due to my heavy breathing, my leg muscle going crazy and my heart rate beating like crazy. She then came in and said that testing was done. So I had to lay there for a bit to be able to walk on my leg. But I got up and came home. When I got home I had to finish a vest I was making for my step dad to wear since he was playing at the Oktober Fest. Well I got it finished and showered and went to the festival, and about 9:30pm I got home and I crashed
we laughed. well it is getting late and I still need to finish my laundry and shower to go to bed for work tomorrow. chat more soon!
Not bad, I have to walk at least 30 minutes a day. I think I can handle that. Then it was onto Dr. Veath the pshycologist. Boy was that not at all what i expected. I knew this was a journey that I would have to work at, but you dont really realize all the things you really have to change till you are there at the appointments and listening to all the info that you get and the things that are going to change ahead. I can see why some people get scared.
All the feelings just seem to all come together. I can do it, i can change this, will i loose my oomph, can i give up my soda,
all those things come to you and it is alot to do, all I keep thinking is...My health. I have given up the smoking, gave up my soda, started taking my lunch, and started the eating breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner and then snack again. I am also eating healthier.
so I am just taking it one day at a time. That is all I can do. So I will continue on. My next appointments are not untill Sept 29th so we will see what effect my changes have made when they weight me then. So till then Chao!
I have some problems houston! I have a very high HgB A1c - it is 10.7
that is down a bit from the original 10.9 but still way to high. I am also low in VitaminD so ended up with a prescription for that. Then came the news that I have a ulcer/cancer
causing bacteria
She told me I should start them when there is not so much chaos in my life.....???? When is that? I mean I work for the State???
It is fitday.com if you want to try it. I like it. So i guess i will try and keep track of the foods their instead of on paper. I think that this will be easier. I was told that after the last two appointments on this thursday, they are all going to get together and
determine if this is something i am ready for, and what things I need to do to get ready for the surgery. I think my biggest hurdle will be getting all the pills in. well I will let ya go for now and chat more soon. take care!
