3 months out!
on October 7, 2010 2:55 pm
3 months out and I've lost 80 pounds!!! I'm UNDER 200!!  WOW!  I'm more than half way there!   I can't tell you the difference in my life.  I've joing a gym, taking a dance class AND a martial arts class. I'm sleeping better, walking, and RUNNING!!  I have energy like never before. People NOTICE me, I'm now in  16 -18 size clothes. (down from 24-26) My joint pain is GONE! My breathing is light! My feet don't hurt.  I can feel my hip bones and can see my jawline.  I feel wonderful.

Wow, this has saved my life.  Not only my physical life, but my mental life as well.

I feel so happy!

The journey starts here
on June 26, 2010 2:01 pm
Monday, June 28th around 3;30PM....my journey towards a new life begins. Even though I've already stated the adjustment to my new lifestyle, I will need to adhere after my open RNY.  Nerves are starting to rattle a bit, pre surgery nerves. I guess that means I'm "normal"  I thank God for this site, my surgeon, my support, my angel, my friends and my doctor who has worked WITH me for a year and suggested bypass.

The before and after pictures are the best motivator for me. I am encouraged by the results.  My surgeon videos us getting up in the table and then will do it again in a year.  He has put together a wonderful film that he uses as a tool during the pre op process.  It moved me to tears.  What impressed me the most was how differently people moved after a year.  There was more confidence in how they moved, there was more happiness in their steps.  It's the confidence in myself that I'm looking foward to. To be able to walk in a room and not want to hide. Yes, I'm noticed but not in a good way....

I never really dealt with my weight before I started the WLS process,  I have since woken up to the dangers of my weight. I liken it to an alcoholic realizing they hav a problem and ned help.  Like an alcoholic, I had to hit rock bottom to realize that.

I will continue this story after my surgery, marking the changes not only in my weight, but my confidence and image of myself.
