I've heard the phrase, "Nothing taste as good as thin feels" and I'm holding on to that as I go through this journey!

20 Days Post-Op
on December 23, 2012 10:07 am

I've been doing pretty good. Lost a total of 43 lbs (including weight lost on pre-op diet)!!! I'm so excited! My ring have started to fall off... I can't wear my pinky rings anymore and my other rings are very loose. Luckily, my wedding rings are still on, but the spin like crazy..lol. My husband and I have agreed that once they fall off and before I hit my goal weight to have them resized, I'll put them on a chain and wear them around my neck. I have to say that it will be weird not having them on my finger...I might try those sizers to see if they will work. We'll see.

I have noticed that chairs that were a bit tight fitting are more comfortable. Especially the small recliner that is next to my youngest sons bed... wear we sit and read books to him before bed time. :-)

The car seat is more comfortable as well. I had to adjust it a notch forward and I can reach the pedals a whole lot easier.

It also seems that my fat is more wiggly!...LOL. Even my husband says my butt is looser... lol.

I have lost this amount of weight before... but not this fast of course, and I don't remember feeling the result like this either. The best part of about this is... I will NEVER see 300 again!!! I have fought so much to just stay under that freaking number!!! and now my battle is over and I can focus on shedding this weight for the last time and it will stay off as long as I listen to my new "Tiny Tummy" when it says "I'm Full"!!! and make those good choices until I hit my goal weight... then be careful with only a few yummys every once in a blue moon.

I have had several people say that they can tell that I'm losing weight... it is showing in my face! I think I have lost my double chin!!!....YAY! I think I'm going to have my oldest son take some new pics of me this week to update my picture on here, Facebook and my business bio on my company's website.

WooHoo... I'm on my way to a much healthier and active life!

4 Days Post-Op
on December 7, 2012 8:13 pm

I'm starting to feel some what human again. Still dealing with some nerve pain around the largest incision. It seems to be going away finally... YAY!

My blood pressure was a problem on the second day of post-op and I had to take some meds to bring it down. It worked for a bit, but then it went back up. It settled down a bit. Enough for them to push the highness off as stress and to let me go home on time. So nice to come home and crawl into my own bed... yes

I'm able to lay on my left side, which is my favorite... but, rolling over is too painful and not comfortable on my right side. So, I sleep for a while on my left side, then when I wake up, I go and sleep in the recliner for a few hours, wake up from there and then back to bed. IT works and I'm able to get some good sleep.

Still on the Bariatric full diet of mushy stuff. I'll go to the Doc next week and get the go ahead for the puree foods for 2 weeks.

Hopefully, we'll be going to look at Christmas lights this weekend and I'll be up for it!

Day Before Surgery!
on December 2, 2012 8:21 am

OMGosh... This is the last day before surgery. I got on the scale and I have lost 22 lbs on the pre-op liquid diet. I have to say, that is nice! But, just the beginning :-)

I'm a little nervous about the surgery, but, more excited! I'm looking forward to getting on with my new life. I feel like I am sooo ready for this. It has been a long though process and I've been waiting for God to help prepare me for the right time. I'm certain that this is it!!! I'm heading to church this morning and then taking it easy this afternoon and spending some time with my family.

One Week Down, One To GO!
on November 25, 2012 6:33 pm

I've made it through the first week of the liquid pre-op diet. I'm heading in to week two... which also means, one more week before surgery!

I'm getting excited and nervous at the same time, but I know its normal and healthy...  good realistic feelings. I guess I'm worried more about my family because of the time I'll be in the hospital. Worried about how my husband is going to handle our 3 yr old and be able to be with me. We have help with me, but I still want the 3 yr old to have a normal of a time as possible while I'm away.

I guess I'm just going to have to leave that to God... He's got it figure out for me!

Day 6 Pre-op Diet
on November 23, 2012 6:55 pm

So... I've made it 6 days for far, even through Thanksgiving yesterday. I have mixed feeling about yesterday. We had plans to go to a friends' house, but my little guy has been sick. Too sick to take to a friends' house for a few hours.

While I was disappointed that we couldn't go because of the fellowship and my family being able to enjoy a yummy dinner. I was kind of happy that I didn't have to go through all that torture of smelling all that food while sipping my broth and protein shakes!

The first 3 days were really bad! I didn't feel good and I had a horrible headache, but the fog cleared on the 4th day when I woke up without a headache! I've been doing pretty good so far. Looking forward to getting through the next week and having my surgery on the 3rd!
