A little about me. Well, I am considered morbidly obese. I am 49yrs old, 5'4" and weigh in at 284 lbs. I have been trying to lose weight for many years..tried all the fad diets,  lost  some on Atkins, which excited me at first, but weight loss leveled off way too soon...only to come back on with a few extra pounds on top of it. Like most very overweight people, I suffer from a number of conditions.
High blood pressure, asthma, high cholesterol and diabetes (which is progressively getting worse). I also have problems with my back, ankles and knees, all due to my excessive weight.
I have been contemplating having WLS for a few years now, but was determined that I could do this on my own with proper diet and exercise...that was a pipe dream. So now I begin a new journey..I will be attending my first seminar this coming Wednesday..and I will not give up until I am approved for surgery and pray that my insurance will come through and cover it...but if they don't I will find a way to have the surgery with or without coverage. It just may take a little longer.
I hope to get to know a few people in here, and wish you all luck with your goals.
