2nd Fill 11/20/2008
on November 21, 2008 9:05 am
I received my second fill yesterday.  It was 1 cc.  I already had 2cc in the band so I am at 3 now.  It went fine.  I've been feeling good.  According to the dr.'s scale I lost 17lbs in the last 4 weeks (since my first fill).  I only had one day (Friday 11/14)  when I wasn't feel very good and vomited my dinner.  I went to liquid for a day and I was fine after that.  I am 286 by my scale at home.  Just about 70 lbs down since August 5th.  I hope I don't get disappointed when the weight loss slows down, which I know it will.  My clothes are looser but I don't really have to stop wearing them yet.  I am able to get into a coat that I haven't worn in years.  The tag says it is a size 22.  I am normally in a 26/28.  I have trouble believing it.  I guess it will become more real the more I lose.  I have been allowed to join the 'Biggest Loser' at work since it has been three months since my surgery.  They said that now all the weight loss will be behavioral.  I said it has been behavioral since 3 week before the sugery!  I am hoping to get some support and have some fun.  My health coach (through work) is involved and thinks its a great idea.  Oh, I can also fit into some shoes that I haven't been able to wear for a long time.  I'm not buying any clothes but I could use a new pair of shoes for winter, where did I put those boots?  Time for another search of the basement.  I'm sure they are in a container down there somewhere.

Lightening up
on November 9, 2008 6:48 am
I'm down another 10lbs to 290!  I started using the Wii Fit and was surprised that it seemed to provide some real exercise.  It was fun which made the time pass more quickly.  I was supposed to get together with my sister at her house to use her elliptical and bow flex but she didn't return my calls and I didn't hear from her.  She is busy and probably forgot.  I was looking forward to it and was a little disappointed.  I won't ask again, I can succeed without those things.  I had my period last week.  It was longer than it use to be.  I struggled with 'the blues' all week.  Some days I was pretty depressed.  I didn't eat anything extra but I did sleep more.  I hate feeling depressed, despondent, lifeless.  It passes.  That is what I tell myself for that week when all I can seem to think is 'life sucks'.  I don't expect that to change after I reach my goal.  I know that its just chemicals in my brain and the hormones just mess it up more.  But for today, life is good, and the sun is out, so I'm going to enjoy it!

First goal reached 10/31/2008
Happy Halloween!  I reached my first goal today, 10/31/2008.  When I weighed myself this morning I was 299!  Out of the 300's!!!  :)  I was 355 on August 5th, when I started to change my eating habit.  Two weeks later, on August 19th, I started my pre-surgery diet, that lasted three weeks until my surgery on September 9th.  I lost 30 lbs in that time.  So I have now lost 55 lbs in 13 weeks, a little over 3 months!  About 3.5 lbs a week since the surgery.  I know it may not continue at this rate but I am hopeful and will do my best!

I completed my first week back to work.  It went very well.  I have been taking Ambien to help me sleep and get back to my early schedule, it has been working well.  I am drinking tea at work, having a shake, a yogurt and sugar free pudding as a snack.  My friends at work are supportive and encouraging.  My co-worker is scheduled for lap band on November 11th so we talk all the time.  I am sure she will do wonderfully.  She has started her pre-surgery diet and is adjusting well.  She has already lost weight and her clothes are already looser.  It is great to have her to talk to and I hope I am of some help to her too.

Happy Halloween!  It's been a treat for me!!
