Surgeon Testimonial

Samuel Bundz, M.D.
What can I say about Dr Bundz??? Hmmm??? That he is the best surgeon here in Lake County....yes! That he has a wonderful bedside manner.....yes! That he is concerned for your well being.....yes! I cannot say enough. I felt as though I was treated as if I was his one and only patient. His staff is wonderful, especially Pam!!!! His wife is his nutritionist and was out on maternity leave, but I did have a phone conversation with her and she was very sweet and kind and was willing to answer all my questions. Dr Bundz made me feel very confident and less nervous. I felt at ease about my decision after my first consultation with him. I rate him and 10+!!!

Goodness me, haven't updated in ions!

Hey all its me! I am a little slow with updates huh? Anyway its been over 2 years since my surgery and I feel great. Its been up and down in the weight issue for the last few months since my hysterectomy. I have lost over 140 pounds since my RNY in april 2005. What a great ride it has been! I do not regret it at all. I think if I didn't do it I would be still 278 or even higher. Something had to be done. I am at the point though that I have to continuously watch what I eat. Since the hysterectomy I crave so much more food. I found out that I can eat bread and pasta now . Those 2 foods are killers for me. I wish I never knew that! Anyway, I am aware of this issue and am making steps to improve it. Also am looking into joining a gym. I know exercise would allow me to eat more but I need to get back on track.  I know if I come here to update my journal more that it will help me stay honest with myself. Theresa (aka miss Dolly ) said you must love yourself. I haven't done that in so long. It has always been about others. I treat myself horribly and beat myself up over every little thing, yet I wouldn't do that to a friend. I haven't been a very good friend to me. Well now I am going to try to be my own best friend. Anyway that is all for now .

I have lost 2 more pounds bringing my total to 124 pounds lost. I still feel like it is a dream. I never thought I would ever lose this weight. I have to pinch myself to feel its real. I put on my class ring from high school and it fit! OMG it fit!!!! I haven't worn it in 18 years! Gotta love it!

Well I am down 122 pounds and I am so happy with my results so far. I still don't feel thinner but I know I am. I still feel that when someone is looking at me they are thinking about how fat I am. I just haven't caught up with myself yet. It is really weird for me. I just went back home to NH and no one had seen me yet. It was definately fun to see the reactions. Well I will update again soon.

October 25, 2005

Today is my birthday! I am down 102 pounds and feel great! Its the best gift I could have given myself! I am getting better everyday. It seems like the longer I am out the better I feel and the better I eat. It is definately a learning process. My husband had the same surgery a few months after me and he is doing great too. He is still learning day by day too. You have to let your new tummy heal and remember to eat slow. That was hard for me because I always ate on the run. As a hairdresser you were lucky enough to get a lunch, you didn't have time to enjoy it. I don't think I tasted food then. It was more like shoving it down your throat. Anyway, just thought I would update sicne it had been awhile.

Well, this is the first time I have updated. I had my surgery on April 26th and at this time I have lost 53 pounds in 2 months time. I am very happy so far. I have had struggles with getting to know my new body and understanding what works and what doesn't. I haven't had sugar and the only thing I watch for is the sugar alchohol. Thank God for this board because without it I would be lost. I think of all those before me that had this done were not so lucky since they were pretty much the first to go through this. Anytime I have a problem with sonething I can always count on my OH family. Anyway, I have been pretty lucky to not have alot of pain or nausea. I had a lot of back pain in the beginning because of the air. I have had food feel stuck twice and boy did that hurt. Every day gets easier and easier. I am so happy I did this. Somedays however I daydream back to my eating days and wonder why I did this and I snap out of because I know I would never have gotten this far without it. I have nothing but the future to look foward to.

9/7/05 well I am now down 85 pounds and finally under 200 for the first time in years!!!! I am doing very well and am finally at a place where I can say I am glad I had it done. I still have days where I am sad but all in all I feel the best I have in years and cannot wait to see what my future holds. I went to Sea World a few weeks back and I could actually fit on the rides!! I was so amazed. What a wonderful feeling!!!!
