Scope Test Tomorrow

I have to go to Sedalia tomorrow morning for my scope test and also to meet with an internal medicine dr. there.  I have to be there at the surgery center at 8:30 therefore we have to leave KC by 6:30am...Yikes!!!  I am just hoping and praying that it doesn't rain/snow like they are calling for.  

I am having problems getting all my vitamins and protein in daily but I'm working on it have to keep trying.  I am also having problems giving up my coke addiction.  I know after my surgery I can no longer drink coke not even diet and this is going to be so hard for me but I got to do it.  I'm drinking less then I normally do and when I can I mix 1/2 reg. coke with decaf diet coke so that I don't have withdrawls and end up with one major headache!

I Got My Surgery Date

I got my surgery date today and I'm so happy!  They couldn't do it in Dec. like I wanted the first available was Jan. 11th however Diane (my best friend) couldn't go on that date cause she might have an interview with Witchita State so I made it for Mon. Jan 21st. I have two months basically to prepare for this.  I would like to lose maybe 15 lbs before surgery so starting today I am really going to watch what I eat and exercise.  I go Wed. the day before Thanksgiving to see a internal medicine dr. and I will have my scope test that morning as well.  I then go on Jan. 7th to my pre-assessment with the hospital.  I can't believe that this is finally happening and now that I have a date it all feels so real. I will soon be able to start my new life and a new beginning!!!!!

Finally Approved

After 4 weeks of fighting with Humana I finally got approved yesterday while on the phone talking to the bariatric nurse that had my case.  I was so happy now I wait for the surgeon's office to call me with a date!!!!!

Still waiting on approval

It's been two almost 3 weeks since my surgeon has submitted the paperwork to Humana and I still haven't heard anything.  I have called several times and left messages and no one ever calls me back.  I'm getting so frustrated with them it shouldn't take this long to get approval it's crazy making.  I am going to give them a few more days then I am going to call the bariatric team and get the name of the person in charge and start bugging them daily until they give me some information.  I'm just so tired of waiting I have been going through this for most of the year and it's time to move on and I feel stuck cause I can't do anything else until the stupid insurance companies decided what they are doing.  I really hate insurance companies I think they are a big rip off.  I'm trying to be patient but I can only take so much, I feel like I am about to explode cause I'm so angry with Humana.
