It's moving again
on November 23, 2010 5:41 pm
One pound at a time.  Since last Tues even though the Dr took twenty something off I have only seen 8 lbs come off on my scale. I am excited to get in the 170's...someday.

Here I go...
on November 18, 2010 10:38 am
Tuesday I had 20 something lbs removed from my belly and breasts.  I have to admit it was not as painful as I prepared myself.  Basically after the 8 hr surgery my blood pressure was so low they refused to give me a narcotic so I took a toridal (like an extra strength advil).  My pressure was running 77 over 59.  So basically I was stable without hardly any meds.  Finally yesterday my BP reached 100 over 69.  They gave me some Loritab.  Today I have been walking around my house and I am obviously bloated.  I will post pics soon.   Glad to be on the othersie and supposedly 24 lbs thinner.  Can't wait to see that on my scale.  Karen

ON MY WAY TO MEETING SOME GOALS.
on November 15, 2010 10:41 am

I hit 130 lbs lost, which was the goal my bariatric Dr had for me.  Tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. I am going in to have my "apron" removed and my breasts brought back up into the general location they were meant to be.  I am very scared but Thankful I have this opportunity.  My insurance came through and is covering my breast reduction due to two discs they have found that were compressed due to my heavy "pendulous" breasts.  The plastic surgeon is throwing a discounted tummy tuck because my insurance is covering my breast reduction.  I have met all my deductibles so I decided to have it done this year.  So basically I am on my way to having a body that has less rashes and creases.  And for that I am thankful.  I will be so glad to throw away all my "minimizer's" and girdle like panties that have become my wardrobe for too many years.  I can't wait to put on a nice pajama and not be sagging to my belly button.  I know some of you know exactly what I am talking about.  Anyway I am hoping all my "friends" will say a prayer for a smooth surgery and as little pain post op as possible!!!  Karen

Lost Another Pound
on October 19, 2010 5:54 am
I have not been eating the best I can.  I have made a commitment to do better so that I can try to get to 190 before my surgery, which is on Nov 16.  I have been told I could lose between 10-15 lbs.  That would put me at 175 if I get to 190.  That would be amazing.  I think at 160 I would look to thin, but we will see.  At my Bariatric Support grp last week we talked about self sabotage.  I think that is my truth.  It seems that the more I move closer to a healthy smaller me...the more I pull back and get stuck.  Its like I am scared of going there, but its all on an unconscious level because I feel I want to be very small...but my behavior is different.  Also, Good News.  I walked with my daughter yesterday.  I have been avoiding exercise as well and I actually walked for an hour.  It felt great.  We are going to walk by her college on Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays.  I will figure out how to move on the other days.  I need to keep moving forward on my journey.
