Doc Huse is great! Everyone was so nice and happy to help. Nicole, his assistant was VERY knowledgable about getting insurance approval. When I had the consult with Doc Huse he made me feel VERY comfortable and READY for the surgery. All the anxiety and nervousness about the decision was taken away with his answers to my questions and also the down to earth way he described the surgery and life after. I just wish he was bit less serious. Although I did get a hint of a smile from him when I asked how soon hubby and I could have sex after surgery....he said...20 minutes as long as I felt like it!!!!!!!! OMG
OKKKKKKKKK I found his sense of humor when I went for my 1 month check-up....I had a little string knot at the bottom of my incision and I said it was sore..he said "no problem..I will take care of it...it will just unravel like a sweater"!!!!!!!!! OMG lol

ONE YEAR

Well Posse, One year has passsed since my surgery and I feel WONDERFUL! I have been able to do so many things I thought I would never be doing again. Being able to walk is a BIG one....and I actually dug up a flower bed and planted 92 bulbs last weekend! I sure hope they all come up next spring! Will sure make me feel good about me and my new life! This is still the best thing I have ever done for me and my prayers go our to y'all who are thinking about having surgery.
DO IT!

My Story

Hey y'all !!! I am so glad to be on this website and on
the Indiana Forum. I am 49 years old and just got married
October 2006. Between the two of us we have 4 boys
ages 25, 21,19, and 15.I don't quite know where to start so
I think I will start with "When did you know you were obese?"
To be honest I didn't think I was ever fat or obese till about 2
years ago when I couldn't do what I normally did. Gone were the
days of shopping till I dropped...I drop after about 10 minutes!
Gone were the days of walking around the school to visit my
son's teachers...gone was camping and hiking with the boy scouts,
no more going to flea markets, just plain gone
was my life as I knew it. I never thought I was overweight....it was
normal in my family. Everyone on my dad's side was overweight.
Everytime we got together it was surrounding food. I never got
teased or laughed at because I was fat...it was always because
I had big boobs. My heart goes out to the ones that get ridiculed
and teased because of their weight. When I was asked what my
goal weight was I didn't know what to put down...I just told Doctor
Huse...I do not want a 2 in front of my weight and I do not want a 2
in front of my dress size. I am excited about having the RNY and I
am really NOT a patient person...but I am waiting to hear,
"You have a surgery date!"
