Surgeon Testimonial

Joseph C Moran
Dr. Moran and his staff are absolutely wonderful! The office staff handled everything for me regarding the insurance and were always available (via telephone and email) whenever I had any questions. Janell rocks! I dont think I could have chosen a better surgeon practice to perform this procedure on me. I give Dr. Moran and his staff a 10!

I survived the first month!
posted on 4/9/07 5:02 am
I am happy to report that I made it through the first month.  The first two weeks of clear/full liquids were probably the hardest weeks of my life!  I was so tired and weak that I pracatically stayed in my bed all day long, but I am here to tell you that IT DOES GET BETTER!!

After I progressed to mushies I felt back to normal again.  I brought a magic bullet (wonderful I might add) but I mainly used mine for making smoothies and protein shakes.  I tried some liquified chicken salad and I couldnt eat it because of the texture.

I am loving my band so far.  My weight has fluxuated between 215-218 but I have lost several inches.  Most of my weight seems to be dropping from my legs (which were'nt very big to begin with) but I am also losing inches from my stomach (YAY!) and my waist.  I haven't had a fill yet but my hunger is pretty much managed.  I drink 1-2 protein shakes a day and usually eat baked chicken or fish.

I survived my first big family function on Saturday.  We had a pre-Easter fish fry and easter egg hunt for the children.  I only ate one piece of fish (huge deal for me) and I managed to get in my water for the day.  Everyone commented that I looked good and I was getting skinny.  I have a few obese people in my family and I was ready to start making recommendations to my surgeon.

Well, thats it for now.  For all you pre-oppers, just know that it does get better.  The first two weeks are definitely the hardest but just stick to your surgeon's diet and you should be well on your way!
