6 months post-op!
on February 25, 2012 8:04 pm
So I havent really posted on here in a while, now I am almost at the 6 month post op mark and I must say I have had a pretty easy ride.  I am down 130 pounds so far, I can really eat anything nothing makes me sick.  I did have to have my gall bladder removed last month and I recently had a seizure (however I have had them in the past been seizure free for 11 years.)  Hoping its a freak thing, doctor is hope I am just not absorbing my meds correctly.  I wouldnt change this for the world I can do 3 miles on the ellipictal at a time now before I couldnt last 5 minutes.  I love my RNY!!

Coming to terms
on September 16, 2011 7:23 pm
So I think I have finally come to terms with the idea of having surgery, or more so come to peace wiith it.  I mean good thing since there is only 2 more days till I get my guts rearranged and all.  For the past month I have been really nervous, like panic attack nervous not being able to sleep and now it has all seem to have gotten a little better.  I mean its here, and I am not backing out yes I am still scared I think most of us are but I will be ok, and I am going to rock this surgery :)

Liquid Diet Hell!
on September 14, 2011 5:43 pm
This pre-op diet is seriously hell on earth, everyday it gets better.  But it is the worst!  I am not even hungry anymore but I just feel like complete crap in general.

My Story

My story is pretty simple, like a lot of others on here.  I have been over weight as long as I can remember.  I was always the bigger girl in my class.  I remember feeling "fat" at age 12, because I was my parents would take me clothes shopping and I would have to shop in the womens section.  By the age of 22 I was in working at Lane Bryant as an assistant manager I was surronded by larger women all the time, I didnt think I was that larger I was a medium size plus size girl.  I met a few people who had had bypass and started to consider it, called the hospital had all the paperwork sent to me but never went thru with it chicken it out.  About a year later got to the point again where I called the hospital again but never went thru with it.  At that point in my life I was a property manager I was very active still maintaining the same size and weight.  About 4 years ago I got a better job, which happens to be a desk job and I work really long hours sometime 6-7 days a week which cause me to gain almost 75lbs gasp!  I am not the largest size you can buy at lane bryant and they barely fit.  I am like busting out of them.  This is the heaviest I have ever been in my whole life.  My brother signed up for the program at the hospital and had surgery two years ago this jan.  when i saw how much weight he started to lose and how good he was doing i started to rethink about rny.  He wife also had surgery in april two years ago they both did awesome and lost so much weight.  I signed up for the class last May and it has taken a long time for me to get a date, but I will finally be having surgery September 19, 2011!
