Hey cheryl, I know that you will do just fine, and I'm dusting off a spot on the "Loser's Bench" for you. Just remember sip, sip, sip, walk, walk walk.

Well I see that you and I are due to have surgery on the same day--October 8th ! I am having my surgery at USC University Hospital in Los Angeles and it will be a revision surgery for me as I had a previous WLS done in 1980 and it was a much older procedure (not done anymore) that was not done by a Bariatric Surgeon (as they really did not have them at that time) and I had to have it undone in 1988 because of problems due to the way the surgeon did the operation and the procedure causing serios side effects.I had lost weight from 410 lbs. down to 180lbs., but through the years and many years of steriod use for severe arthritis I have gained and gaineduntil I now am 380 with a BMI of 61.Due to multiple previous surgeries, I will have to have an open procedure-probably a distal RNY or possiblt a Duodenal Switch.I am 61 but have passed all the tests-including the Cardiac Stress and Pulmonary Function Studies.Hope all is a GO for your surgery and will check back with you to see how you are doing.Glad to be in this with another "mature" lady such as myself.

my progress

Hi everyone, sorry I have not been keeping up with this info.  I have started a new job which keeps me very busy. Our bank is now open 7 days a week and we are to work 1 weekend a month.  I can't stand working on the weekends.  I have had some good wow moments.  I can now cross my legs properly and my coat which did not fit before is now way to big.  I have alot more energy and have been trying to exercise more.  Now I have tendonitis of my foot and have to wear an aircast for the next 4 weeks.  I guess because I am not use to being on my feet all day long at work.  I am loosing slowly because I cannot exercise properly.  I have now lost a total of 67 lbs so far. I have no problems with eating.  Just have had food stuck a couple of times and got the foamies once.
