Surgeon Testimonial

Dalton Prickett, M.D.
I really like Dr. Prickett and his staff, I have recommended him to those who have inquired about surgery. He is sincere but straight up about the surgery and it's dangers. He is very committed to his work, it shows that he cares very much about helping people. His staff is wonderful, I can't say enough about Judy Stuck. rnrnThe office program is outstanding, the team on staff, nutritionist, behavioral therapist, exercise therapist, etc is on point, and available anytime! Even years out!!! That's service at it's best.

Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! Your journey will have moments to “pause” - Feel free to look at my profile and see my ups and downs and know I’d not change a thing with anything I’ve experienced. Everything was worth it! – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)…Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly and take lots of pictures…the transformations will make your jaw drop!!! RNY 10/31/03 257/133 Good luck!

A time of reflection and a time of questions
on August 20, 2007 7:52 pm
Almost two years post op now, and this journey is not over by any means.  Can I say that I am just as motivated today as I was two years ago?  I can not believe that it's been almost two years!  But with this new annivesary brings new questions for me... like how much am I supposed to be eating (that's a big concern right now)... how much is too much....  things like that.  I have noticed that I can alittle bit more than a cup of food lately, I am not sure if that is normal, but it's something I question.

I have my two year check up soon, and these questions I will definitely be asking (after I do some research on the boards here too!).  And even ask about starting a family!  I never in my whole life thought I would be thinking about children, but my life has been full of surprises for the past two years.  :)

Along with surprises has come reflection, deep reflection at times.

But this journey is not easy.... it's not an easy way out nor is it a cure.... It's a tool, and it comes with sacrifices and enormous strength, but we can and will do this.  For our lives and futures, we have too.

My favorite question that I get is "So you are really gonna keep up with this huh?" and my answer: "I don't have a choice if I want to live, have a future, have children and a life.  This was a decision I made for the rest of my life and will never go back, ever again."

I think one of the most important things to remember is that we have to put Health first and foremost, and that is what I tell people, even friends trying to lose weight, I tell them to focus on their health, not on what they look like.... as my surgeon says, looking good is just a good side effect in the road to being healthy.  He is so right and I will never forget those words.
