Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
Before deciding to have bariatric surgery I was miserable at 371 lbs, I sat all day at work and did not exercise as that was not a word in my dictonary. I was tired all the time and would work, come home change into my pajamas and in bed sometimes by 7 PM I totally had no energy.

I am 51yrs old and married to a wonderful man and my soul mate .  I have 2 daughters ages 24and 34 and 6 grandchildren ages 7mos, 5,8,13,15 and 18.   I am medically retired due to lung diease.   I live for my family and family is my main focus in life.  I have 30 years experience in the medical insurance field in which 10 of it working in a trauma center as a ER tech.  I know the ins and outs of insurance

I finally recieved approval for Social Security Disability after fight for 2 years in May.  Praise my wonderful Saviour for seeing that I will be taken care of.

I have been battling Intersititial lung diease, asthma, diverticulosis, degenerative joint diease, depression and anxiety and panic disorder which restricts me from working.  I am on oxygen at night where I was on 24/7 and I am basically homebound most of the time because of my interself worries about getting germs and getting sick and have to go back on steroids

As I lose this weight I am becoming more mobile and getting out of the home a little more these days.  I thank the support of my wonderful family and my OH Family as they keep me going and keep my goals within sight.

Terrible at blogging

Ok today I am depressed, I am not losing any more weight and at a plateau and seeing others that had surgery after me losing more weight.   I know a lot of its my fault making wrong choices of food and I guess I need to start journaling it.

I can't seem to stray away from the sweettooth I have.  Oh well no one to blame but me.  I can just start over again I guess.

I have had a terrible day today as I wanted to eat all day long ... not that I was hungry but that food in general just taste good to me and I miss not being able to eat but know that my health is important to me also.    It to will pass as the saying goes.     hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

My Story

I have been overweight all of my life and I have been on every diet you can think of.  In 2006 I was diagnosed with interstitial lung diease and a enlarged heart.   I was told that I needed WLS to try and get my weight down to take pressure of my heart and lungs or I would not live to see 55 my lung dr and family phys told me.  So I started my journey to get approved in January of 2006 I had to fight the insurance company to approve the lap band because they said my BMI was too high for lap band they wanted to approve RNY which my surgeon said I was not a good candidate for it cause of my lung diease.  SOOOOOOOOOO I had to appeal this decision from insurance and finally was approved in July of 2007.   I had my surgery LapBand on 8/31/2007 my beginning weight was 371 lbs and as of todays date I am down to 246 and have many more lbs to loose.   Its a battle but am willing to do anything to improve my health so I can see my grandkids grow up and graduate.

My family is everything to me.
