With my experience so far I can honestly say I have never been to a Dr. whose office was so organized. All my appointments were setup rnquickly and everything went smoothly . He strikes me as a type of surgeon who really cares about his work and works hard at keeping a good reputation. Everything was more than adequately explained . Aftercare along with your overall care is very important to him . I rate him at the top of the scale and have no doubt about his competence .

My name is Cindy I have been overweight most of my life and can't wait to get started on this journey !

My Story

7/22/06 - I had been thinking about the surgery for three years and finally I signed up for it .

08/22/06 - I went for my first consultation. I had gone to two of Dr. Lord's seminar and was really impressed with him. I like him and his staff and I know I will get the best of care. I can't wait to get started !

08/31/06 - Met with the nutritionist and WOW ! I knew there was going to be a lot involved and it certainly is not going to be easy but that makes me all the more determined to follow through with this.

09/05/06 - Got my nutrition and psychology evaluation done. Now all I have to do is get the bloodwork done and I'm on my way !

09/21/06 Got my EDG done and all went well. Dr. Lord is going to repair my small hernia when he puts the band in. Yipee !  No more hernia pain.

I got a date ! 10/18/06 everything is happening so quickly ; I think he has the most efficient office I have ever seen . It couldn't have come at a better time. Our neighbor and good friend died on the 13th of Sept. and that was just the news I needed to cheer me up a little . One life ending and one starting over ;the circle of life in a strange way . He was only 77 but I know if I don't do something about my weight now I might not make  it until then. My Dad died six days before his 71th birthday form heart trouble that he had all his life . His weight went up and down through out the years but he never went over 200 lbs. but he was only about 5'7. I figure my luck has been pretty good up til now and I don' need to push it. I weigh over 250 lbs or that is what I weighed when I started this now I am up to 269 and I am only 5'5 . If I don't get a handle on this now I never will .

10/06 Went for my pre-op and paid for everything soooooooo its signed sealed and almost delivered !

10/15/06 Started my liquid diet today and actually it is the beginning of my journey for real ! There will be no more forbidden fools after today until I get my weight off and then again maybe never. I may feel so good after losing the weight I may never want to eat unhealthy again.  I feel it in my bones that this is going to work and I am going to work with it. I feel hope , peace and a calmness I have never felt at other diet attempts ;let me think I think that is freedom I feel !

10/18  Had the surgery ! He didn't have to repair my hernia but I did have a lot of scarr tissue from my gallbladder surgery 10 years ago and he said I had a huge liver --- which really worried me but I have since found out its not such a big deal.
