9 Months Out and Loving Life!!!
on May 13, 2009 8:33 am
OK Peeps!  It's been a while since I posted and I am so sorry.  I feel like I have given up a little on Obesity Help.com and I am going to make a strong effort to get back to participating on the boards.

I am 9 months out now and down 105 pounds!!!!  I went from a size 26/28 top to a size MEDIUM!!!!  And a size 24 pants to a size 10 (an occasional 8 sneaks in too) !!!  Life is amazing!  I am enjoying my kids and my life so much more.  My husband is thrilled even though he loved me any way!!!!  I can't say enough about how wonderful my husband is.  He never once complained about my weight or how I looked.  I did this for me and for him and for my family!!!

I hope you all are as happy as I am and I look forward to seeing you all on the boards!!!!

4 month update
on December 21, 2008 8:50 am
Well, I don't have too much more to report other than I am extremely happy and proud that I am at where I am at right now.  I am down over 70 lbs in 4 months and couldn't be more thrilled.  I still have no food issues and I am able to get in all my fluids and protein without any problems.

I have gotten much better about my protein shakes since I have seen that it actually does make a huge difference with the weight loss.  Whenever I am stuck for a bit, adding my shakes jump starts my losing again.

I look forward to hopefully having continued success and can only hope I stay on the same track I am now!!!

3 month update
on November 10, 2008 4:05 pm
Well, I know its been a while since I posted here...but I'm not sure if anyone reads this stuff anyway!!! - lol
I am having my 3 month surgiversay tomorrow and I am down a total of 55 lbs!!!!  WOW, that's a lot of weight.  Down from a size 26/28 shirt to an 18/20 and a size 24 pants to a size 18.
Things are just amazing!  I go back to the doctor next month to check my blood and make sure all my levels are ok....I'm sure I'll be lacking in the calcium area...since I can't ever seem to remember to take my calcium....
I eat just about whatever I want, within reason of course...and haven't had much of a problem with anything...good and bad!   It's bad because I can eat whatever I want, lol...but its good bad because I am not losing as fast as others around my same surgery date.  But then again, losing slower may be better....who knows!  All I know is that I'm losing and I'm feeling great and everyone notices and says I look amazing!!!!  And I'm finally starting to feel amazing!

Almost One Month Down!!!
on September 5, 2008 7:06 am
Well, monday is 4 weeks since my surgery and as of today I am down almost 25 lbs!!!!  I have my one month check up with Dr. Schmidt on the 11th and I am hoping to be down closer to 30 lbs by then!!!!

I have to say that so far my RNY journey has been nothing short of fantastic!  I have had no problems so far with the post op at all.  I am tolerating all foods; getting in my 4 ozs 3 times a day; barely snacking during the day; and even exercising without any problems.

My only issue is with the protein.  I am having a very hard time getting my protein in.  Especially with finding a protein that I actually like.  But 2 of my very wonderful OH friends have given me lots of samples to try...Thank you Laura and Rachelle!!!!

I never imagined I would feel this good and still be losing weight.  I expected to be sick and everything...but I am very pleasantly surprised - as is my husband and family as well.

So Far... I love my RNY!!!!!!

Going for 1st Follow Up Appt
on August 20, 2008 6:30 pm
Well, tomorrow is my 1st follow up appointment since my surgery on August 11th.  After seeing the doctor I will sit in a seminar to learn how to eat for the next week or two.  Looking forward to expanding my diet a bit.

All in all, I'm only 9 days post op, but I am very happy.  I am tolerating most everything that goes in my mouth and have had very little to complain about.  So far, I love my RNY -- especially since I have lost almost 16 lbs already!!!! Woo Hoo!

Just wanted to blog a bit and tell everyone how happy I am to be a part of this wonderful community and I don't know what I would have done without you guys!!!!!
