Tuesday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

It's a BOY!!!
on December 20, 2008 12:57 pm
I just had my 20 week ultrasound on Thursday (12/18) which showed us that our little baby is a boy. Anthony (our 4 1/2 year old son), was a little disappointed at first. He really wanted a sister. After the appointment, we went to the store and bought a couple of outfits....he was so excited by that time, he wanted to buy EVERYTHING! He is very concerned that the baby doesn't have any toys yet. lol. He's such a sweetie. He is going to be a wonderful BIG Brother! Just wanted to fill you in! :-)

Pregnant!
on October 10, 2008 1:34 pm
Most of you know this already, but I thought i'd make a little post about it. Hubby and I found out we were pregnant a couple of weeks ago. We are so overjoyed. I had my first ultrasound at 7 weeks (because I'm paranoid, and I have a really great Dr. who is just wonderful, and all I had to do was ask for a quick ultrasound). Saw the heartbeat and the little tiny jelly bean of a baby that was there at the time. Other than being a little more hungry than usual, and tired, everything is going great so far. I go in for my first prenatal appt on Wednesday (10/15) and will get another routine ultrasound at that time to measure baby and all of that good stuff. I will be 11 weeks then, so there will be lots of changes from a few weeks ago. We do have a 4 year old who has been asking for a baby sister for a long time...all on his own! He wants us to go to the baby store to buy a baby, I told him that the baby store is waaayyy far away! haha! I can't wait to tell him about the baby...I just wanted to make sure everything is still ok, but as long as things are good, we'll tell him after my appt on wednesday...I CAN'T WAIT!!  Anyways, that's my story for now! I will update after the appt on wednesday!

My Story

OK! I am a 23 year old mommy and wife. I had gastric bypass on October 30, 2007 (1 day before my birthday). It was the best thing I have ever done for myself and my family!  :-) Currently, I am 7 months post op and have lost 98lbs!!! I am so happy to be back to me. I still have a ways to go...but not nearly as far as I have come already. It is so wonderful to go to the park and play with our 4 year old son with energy that I never used to have. I don't just sit on the bench anymore, I slide down the slides (cause now I fit) and I just run around and act like a goof. It is so much fun! I am so much happier now than I was, and I didn't even realize I was so miserable. I like to look at before and after pictures often to remind myself of where I used to be, how far I've come, and the weight I will NEVER see again.  A lot of people believe that having this surgery is the "easy way out". I am here to say that it's not even easy. It's the extra boost that some people need, but it is still a lot of hard work. Training your brain and body to work out everyday isn't easy...if it was, we never would have been at that point to begin with. Training your body to recognize when you are full...not overstuffed, isn't easy, if it was, we never would have been at that point to begin with! So, that is all for now... This surgery has definitely been the best thing that I have ever done, not only for me, but especially and maybe even more importantly, for my son, who doesn't have a fat lazy mom anymore!!
