Wednesday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench! ~ JudyAnne

WOW!!!
That's all I can say- WOW! when I stepped on the scale this morning and saw that I lost 8.5 pounds this past week. Amazing. I have to thank God again for this incredible journey he sent me on. When I posted my new weight, it seems like a tote board on a telethon. Anyway, always happy to see those numbers go down. And as my friend Roberta said- some day your jeans will fall off. Well, I'm there! I put on a pair of jeans yesterday that used to be tight and I couldn't keep them up! I finally had to change! I'm still working out and I just got approved to cut down my hours at my second job- in 6 weeks, so I am stoked about that. My kids will be happy ( I think) to have me home some more. Well, all is good on this end.

As my world turns
I can't believe its been a month since I last posted. I've been busy getting the kids back to school and working. The weight loss is still going, which I am happy about. I do get tired of people asking how much I've lost, how I feel, my energy level, what am I eating and all that. Hopefully the interest dies off soon. I am grateful I have people that care, but when someone or 2 or more people ask every time you walk into work, it gets old. Anyway, I am finally in size 22 pants and 18/20 on top. I am starting to look a little like a pear. I had hoped that the weight would come off evenly, but beggers can't be choosers! Well, thats about all going on in my world.

In Training
on July 24, 2008 1:24 am
On Tuesday I met with my trainer. Her name is Cathy and she is definitely in shape!!! She showed me a routine to start with and explained the cardio (at least 30 minutes 4-5 days/week) is the most important thing. I think she was a little surprised that I am a little more in shape than I look- she kept saying, "you have a strong heart," and " see, you don't have to be thin to be physically fit." That helped me a little since I've been a little down on myself about still being in the same size clothes (although they are looser). Wednesday, Brandon and I went to workout and it was  a good time. He ran the treadmill (showoff) while I walked. Then he watched me on the strength training machines she has me doing. It is nice to have someone to workout with- I don't feel so out of place, but I think I need an MP3 player or something to listen to. Well, that's all thats going on here. Until next time...

4 weeks later...
on July 17, 2008 12:39 am
Well, I'm 4 weeks into this journey. Hard to believe! I still feel so fortunate to be blessed with the opportunity to be a normal size! What a gift! I am eating some foods now, trying something different everyday and so far, no problems. I am going tomorrow to get my ID card at the gym I joined and to sign up for a time with a personal trainer ( a little tip I learned from my therapist and one of her patients, to get a trainer early on to maximize workouts).  I've been able to fit into 2 pairs of pants I couldn't before, but have yet to fit into a size 22. I know its coming soon! my scrubs are fitting looser, so that makes me more comfortable at work. Well, I guess that's all for now. Until next time...

2 weeks post-op
on July 2, 2008 10:24 pm
Well, I made it through the surgery ok and am recovered for the most part. Everything went well in Costa Rica. Everyone was great! I would recommend this to anyone. I have been on liquids for the past 2 weeks and just started to eat the pureed diet today. I don't like the oatmeal, because it has the protein powder and it is made with water, so I think I'll just stick with the protein shake. Also, I don't like the baby food- tried the bananas today(gross)! The mashed potatoes are the best!!! I went back to work on Sunday night and it went well. I am excited to finally be on the loser's bench, as of last Thursday I was down 15 pounds since surgery and I lost 12 pounds pre-op, so it's a good feeling. Even though I am not hungry, it is still hard not being able to eat like "normal" people, but I am consoled with the weight loss and the fact that I will be able to eat again soon!

My Story

I have been overweight my whole life. When I was in 2nd grade I can remember weighing 120 pounds! I come from an overweight family, on my Mom's side. When I was 10, I joined WW. I can remember them trying to convince me it felt good to be hungry. My Mom died young, age 39. She weighed over 600 pounds and refused to have WLS. I have a husband and 4 girls. I want to live to hold my grandchildren and participate in their lives. My husband is supportive and just wants me to be healthy, no matter what weight I am.
