2 weeks 4 days out
on July 28, 2007 8:44 am
Ok, so in 3 days I'll be 3 weeks out!. I'm eating tuna salad on crackers, meatloaf, fish, shrimp, crab, soft foods, tofu, things like that. I talked to my nutritionist and he told me NO BROTH, it's way too high in sodium and I'll loose way faster if I don't have the broth. I've started loosing weight fast again, 2 pounds in 2 days, instead of a pound every 6 days... that kind of sucked.
I weigh 200 pounds now and my BMI is 35.4!! according to my surgeons office I've lost 21 pounds! but I was 217 morning of surgery, not 221, so according to me, I've lost 17 pounds. I'm hoping to loose 20 this first month, and it will probably happen. When I was doing diets before surgery I could loose weight really fast, but it was hard to keep it off. Now, I'm either the same or less every day and it's no more of that going up 4 pounds in one day. I hated that!!

11 hours to surgery!
on July 9, 2007 8:26 pm

Ok,
11 hours and counting, in 11 hours I will be at the hospital, getting my IV started and prepped for surgery. The only thing that really realy SUCKS is my mom and husband can't come in with me while they prep me, which usually takes a couple hours... no? I've never done this before, been by myself. I probably look like a big baby, but I'm not, I just get anxious easy.

Today was so hard, doing the clear liquids for a whole day has been so hard! the operating room scheduler called me at 11:48 and told me I need to check in for surgery at 7:15. I'm worried, because I'm not really worried! I've had surgery before and everything has been fine, but I'm worried that it hasn't hit me yet. It hasn't hit me that I'm going in for surgery in 11 hours. Maybe when I lay down to go to sleep in 1/2 hour it will hit me.

I pray I'll be able to sleep tonight!

Getting a tad nervous
on July 7, 2007 8:37 am
So.....
Surgery is in, lets say 2 days, 2 full days anyway. Tomorrow is my last day of real food, and I'm happy for that. yesterday I didn't overdo it with food, and I'm actually down a couple pounds. Earlier this week I was at 221 in the morning, and I was 218 this morning. SO happy, because the doc said it'd be good to loose a little before surgery and I wasn't. He also said he'd be able to tell if I had gained or lost once he got inside.

I love this website! I can't put anything pertaining to this surgery thing on my myspace because I have some of my mom's friends' kids on there as friends and my surgery is a big secret to them because they don't believe in surgery, let alone going to the doctors. So I get to shout out my feelings here instead. I can't wait to start posting photo's of myself as the weight drops off!

I am getting sort of nervous though, Monday everything will become a reality though. I have to do clear liquids the whole entire day, and nothing after midnight. The next day I get nothing untill well after surgery. The more I think about it the more nervous I get, but at least I've been able to sleep the past few nights. I did have a bout of insomnia there for a while! lol

-I'll write more tomorrow

My Story

Well,  I've been overweight since puberty in 3rd grade. I started my first diet in 5th grade, I lost 10lb and then gained 20. In 6th grade, My grandma decided to try the cabbage soup diet, and the whole family did that one. Finally in 2003 my mom and grandpa and I all went on Jenny Craig, I lost 45 pounds and was 170. By summer 2005 I was 300 pounds. It scared the witts out of me when I stepped on the scale and I started watching what I was eating. I aslo found out I have PCOS so my Ob/Gyn put me on Metformin. I lost down to 270, and then I asked the doc for a referral for gastric bypass and at the referral I was around 260. Finally I had my orentation, and at the orentation I was 256. 3 months later I got a call from the nurse, and I had a class that opened up for me in the evening. The beginning of my 24 week journey. I graduate on June 20th!! getting closer by the day!
