6 Months Plus
on May 21, 2007 2:23 pm
Well I'm 6 months and 1 week I finally got my scanner working and scanned my photos in from the doctor's office.  I have been averaging 2 pounds a week I'd like it to be more but am happy it's steady.  I have been battling with my fibromyalgia, I've been almost pain free for the first 6 months but it's back with a vengeance.  The only pain reliever that the bariatric clinic says I can take I can't take because it interact with 2 of my other medicines and can cause seizures.  My doc did give me some Tylenol 3 when the pain is to extreme.  I'm feeling much better today.  I'm finding I'm feeling sorry for myself and reverting back to bad snacking habits.  I'm really working on that and adding more exercise.  My pool is closed after Wednesday until June 11 so that does not make me happy.  I'm going to have to try some alternative exercises.

Century Club

I finally made it as of today I am 101 pounds down.  I had a couple of rough weeks but I'm so glad to get over that hump.  I'm feeling really good and actually enjoying exercising what's up with that.  I had to buy all new clothes for summer and the tags don't come off until I try them on right before I wear them.  When I went in for my check-up the nurse said my weightloss should start slowing down, I'm not ready for that so I'm uping my exercise to help offset that.
Have a great day!!!

3 Month Check-up
on February 12, 2007 12:22 pm
I went in for my 3 month check-up today.  I was officially down 70 pounds(74 on my scale).  Everything is going good.  I have noticed I have no problems with food except for fried foods.  I had really hoped I would dump from sugar but no such luck. LOL.  My thiamine levels were low, so I have to have a series of 10 shots and then get my levels rechecked at 6 weeks after the shots.
I've really have to work hard at not snacking at night.  I feel some old habits creeping up and I'm fighting them tooth and nail.

My Story

I'm a 47 year old married with one 12 year old son.  I have struggled with being overweight most of my life.  I remember being the tallest in first grade which is ironic because I'm only 5'2" now.

I have tried every diet plan known, and had some successes in the early 90's but I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about 3 years ago and the pain had gotten so bad I couldn't exercise.  I really started putting on even more weight then.

So in June I started investigating WLS on the internet and attended a info meeting at Unity Hospitol in Fridley, MN.  I signed up that day for an appt in July to meet with the nurse.

I was planning on having my surgery in '07 but once I got all my stuff in and done and was approved I decided to do it in November (partly because I didn't want to go through the holidays trying to loose weight) so on the 14th I had a RNY open with Dr. Johnson.
