Surgeon Testimonial

John Touliatos, M.D.
Before I even met Dr. Touliatos I prayed about who I should pick. I had a choice between two doctors. Both being Christians was a big plus for me. I was told they both pray with their patients. I really appreciate the fact that they know their gift of surgery is from our creator and Savoir Jesus Christ.
I met him on my first visit. He was very through. Covering everything I had already looked up. I was so excited to meet him.
He is very nice and even let my daughter make our picture together.
This is a big event in my life. I know this is going to change my life in a big way. LOL No pun intended.
Update since surgery.
I highly reccomend Dr. Touliatos. I had no complications. Was able to go home the next day after my surgery. I love that his staff are very nice and helpful as well. He will cover everything for you. Aftercare is very important to him. And his staff make it easy to make an appointment, either right then or calling in on a later date.
I don't have any complaints with Dr. Touliatos or his staff. I however do about Trinity Medical Center.

My son will be 18 in Feb. Sam is my baby. I'm not looking forward to having him so grown.
Phillip and I teach a couples Sunday School a little over five years now. We love them all so much. What a blessing these couples are to us.

Tough times!
on July 28, 2008 10:05 pm
I really should not be but am a bit blue. I know things will work out. They always do. God is always looking out for his children and I'm one. So I have to remember he is in control. It's just scary sometimes when there's more bills than money coming in. We are trying so hard to get control of what we owe and get things paid off. Cut backs at hubbies work are not part of the plan but oh well...it's done.
My son lost a dear friend this month. What a shock! He was 16. It just doesn't seem real not to have Dan walking in this house with his sweet smile. I cannot imagine my neighbors pain with the loss of her youngest child. And the basketball goal is not being used. That was one of my comforts. Hearing those boys out there playing ball made me feel good. I knew they were both safe. God help this family though their pain.
I've really lost a lot of weight. I wish I knew how much. Maybe I'll try to get by the doc's office one day and just get my weight before I go to work. Would love to know. I know I'm wearing some 16w's and 18w's fit loosely. NICE!!! Was nice to give away all those 22's and 24's. YEAH!
If God is for you who can be against you?
The God of love and peace will be with you!

Somewhat opptimistic!
on May 19, 2008 2:49 pm
LOL I just did a Gallup poll survey on the phone. I do lots of online surveys but not real keen on doing them on the phone. Somehow talking with the guy on the phone seems to personal. But I so like giving my opinion when asked and sometimes when not, that I did it anyway.
I just wanted to update my blog. I've been doing really good. Able to eat most anything! I'm trying to stay away from sugar still but did an opps when making my Daddy a lemon pie for his birthday. I licked the spoon...yep, I dumped! From licking not even a spoonfull of delicious lemon pie. OH BUT, I'm soooo glad. Hopefully I'll never be able to induldge in such rich sweets again! I do not ever want to gain the weight back.
I was at my MD last week to have my 6 mt lab check up, also wanted to get some kind of perscription for my restless leg syndrom. He gave me two perscriptions. Neither work! I went to Walmart and bought some Calcet for leg cramps. It has helped the day time rls I was having but I'm still having to take tylenol pm to be able to sleep at night without waking to get up and stretch my legs. I guess I'll stick to that until it doesn't work any longer. BTW I had lost 4 more lbs since my appointment with Dr Touliatos. YAY!!! I might go by there tomorrow and get my weight again. lol Have to get my results of my labs anyway.
I'm a happy Nana! My daughter had Autumn Brooke last week. I wasn't online here at all. I had my 4 yr old grand daughter and poor thing didn't feel good at all. Not to mention missing her Mommy and Daddy. I sure miss her! She's sooo sweet! And so is Autumn.
Till next time...keep your eyes on Him who loves you.
My scripture for the week: Isaiah 43:2-4 "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.....
For I am the Lord your God.....
You are percious and honored in my sight."

Second appointment with doc
on May 12, 2008 10:11 pm
I had to see Dr. Touliatos on May 7th for my second check up since surgery. I had lost another 10 lbs since my last appointment. He was very pleased. He didn't expect me to loose more than 5 lbs. It had been 3 weeks since my last appointment. Alltogether I've lost 26 lbs. I explained what all I was eating. He was happy with that also. I know I am too. Eating food gives me alot more energy than just protein shakes. The first time I ate beef, it made me feel so good I went out and worked in my yard. YAY!!! It sure needed it. lol
I have dehydrated 3 times since surgery. I didn't realize what I had done the first time till I read a post on here. Then it hit me...DUH!!! The second time was really a shock and then today I dumped. Clearly stupid of me to drink a whole cup of coffee. Yes I used splenda....but I guess all the acid from the coffee.  I learned my lesson! I'll miss my coffee! But it's not worth dehydration. I'm sticking to water!!!
Till next time....Go with our Lord and Savior! Keep your eyes on Him who loves you!

Surgery
on April 10, 2008 10:19 pm
Phillip and I checked into Trinity Medical Center Inn April 2nd. I still had to drink my yucky drink. That was my supper, along with loads of water. WOW! Was that nasty! And it works well. If I'd had it to do over again. I'd have done it the day before. Then all I had to do was check into the Inn and sleep. Not much sleeping going on that night for me or Phillip. I think he was too nervous. My baby loves me!
The next morning I walk over by myself and Phillip puts our stuff in our truck. He has a hard time finding me cause he went a different way. Silly men! Why didn't he follow my simple instructions. I sat there long enough to get my blood pressure up. I was nervous cause Phillip was taking so long, cause they were taking so long, cause there were so many waiting and one lady was upset cause her husband had been passed over several times. NERVOUS! Yep! Findally get in the room where they tell me to strip and put on the little nighty that allows everyone to see my big behind. They check vitals and I get my iv. Yep your blood pressure is up, I'm going to check something and allow you to calm down a bit. I did! Prayer!
Then they allow Phillip to come in. He's Only there a minute and they come to take me away and take Phillip to the waiting room. That's all I remember till I wake up in my room. My back is what hurt me the most. But I also had a major headache. Then I noticed my butt was numb and hurting. They allowed me to get up and walk. That actully felt soooo good. Good also to get my butt off the 4 inch mattress for a bed. And the bed/chair my husband had was awful. That is the only twp complaits I have about Trinity Medical Center. Everyone, is really awesomely nice!!!  My favorite nurse was this little bity pretty nurse by the name of Donna and Michelle was really awesome nice too. Actually they all are nice! And so sweet. I wish I could remember all their names. 10th floor nurses ROCK!!!
I love my new tummy!

Pre-Admitting
on March 26, 2008 9:14 pm
Today I traveled to Birmingham for pre-admitting, test, and saw Dr. Touliatos. Everyone at Trinity is so so so nice. I had such a good time with each one of them. From the first lady who did my insurance paper work to, then to test, then more paper work and going over pre-opp prep stuff. They even told me how to get to Sue's class on nutrition.  I finally met Sue Bunnell. She is so sweet and I've emailed and talked with her on the phone many times. I feel like I know her already. She is funny and sweet.
Then onto meet my good-looking Greek doc. He is so sweet also. I'm so pleased with everyone I've met so far. They are all so helpfull and nice. I think they all really love what they do. I hope I can find work at something I will enjoy.
My 18 year old son went with me today. I was so pleased that he did. I know it made my husband really happy to have someone with me as I traveled so far from home. It's a long 2 hour drive from our home. I know my Father was with me all the way because of the prayers of my sweet friends. I cannot say thank you enough. OH is a wonderful blessing. I'm grateful for this site and my new friends.
